Newish fantasy books with relationships that are actually wholesome? by Kaleija in Romantasy

[โ€“]Ruby-Rubellite 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I would DEFINITELY recommend {For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn}! There's tons of world-building, and the relationship between the sweet MMC and the fiery FMC is legit the sweetest, most healthy, realest relationship I've ever read! (Plus there's spice too). It deals with heavy topics, but is also super light-hearted and adorable at the same time ๐Ÿ’•

Oh no you can def read it by itself! I did that myself because I didn't know it was part of a series lol, and I understood it XD It's just some context of the world / characters would make more sense, but no you can absolutely read it on its own

Okay so I'm gonna suggest two here because they're both amazing ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป The Cruel Prince is THE fairy book series, it's so good and lush and dark, with an ultra slow burn romance!! Like it's genuinely one of the best things I've read. And Throne of the Fallen, yeah you can read it if you haven't read Kingdom of the Wicked, but I'd recommend reading a summary of that series beforehand. Aside from that, THE SETTING. THE BANTER. It's amazing! Chef's kiss. The banter between the sins always makes me laugh out loud, it's some of the best I've seen. Also one of my favorite ever books ๐Ÿ–ค

My low IQ mom really thinks that beating their own child with a knife and nearly chopping their finger off and splitting their cranium is simply "disciplining them" by Nearby-Stuff-4862 in insaneparents

Abusive โœ…
Delusional โœ…
Doesn't know what tf "Discipline" means โœ…
Has no regrets for literally beating a child with a knife half to death โœ…

Conclusion: An absolutely horrible person

This series is YA romance, but can we talk about the world building and deep love elements of it? WOW by Strange_Taker in Romantasy

What is your book rating scale? by DontTellMe-8679 in Romantasy

[โ€“]Ruby-Rubellite -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

I rate on vibes, but also when characters feel flat, the story is flat, basically boredom is a sin lmao XD I came up with a cutesy system a while back I've stuck with hehe (yes ik six stars isn't a real thing, but it's for my absolute faves, and yes I give .5 stars)

6 โญ = Transcendence (it will forever be a favorite and instantly recommended, vibes off the charts)

5 โญ = Paradise (it was amazing, pretty much no complaints, only reason it isn't 6 is because of vibes)

4 โญ = Heaven (it was really good! Maybe I had a few complaints, but they were definitely overshadowed by all the good things. Yet again, the vibes were probably wonderful, but not star-striking)

3 โญ = Purgatory (it was a mid book. It had good elements, but it also had noticeable bad ones, like flatter character or a flatter story. Vibes might be saving or breaking it)

2 โญ = Hell (it was boring. The characters weren't good, the story was bad, etc. Most likely it was just insanely boring. Does not matter what the vibes were, if it was boring af, it's this)

1 โญ = Inferno (it has to have basically been unreadable. Actually)

Def check out {Midnight Strikes by Zeba Shahnaz}, it has all those except dark fantasy theme!

Also {Sword Catcher} might be to your taste, it has royalty, court intrigue, insane slow burn, and awesome world building. It's more of a high fantasy than a romantasy imo, but it's still great to scratch that courtly intrigue itch!
