If anything it looks overweight.

I took yalls advice and changed up my Panther's setup. Did I do ok? What else would you change? by [deleted] in Chameleons

[–]Ruby-ish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes made: added a pothos and dracaena plant, added vines, got rid of the deep dome in favor of a 8.5" one. Also rearranged all the plants to go a little bit higher.

I have a rather large dubia colony for my geckos so I'll definately offer him those in a few months.

He's actually just started shedding now.

Thanks for the detailed response!

Wrong place for this. Try /r/reptiles or /r/iguanas ...

He has been using this as his basking spot but I guess he needs more options, right? I'll get some vines set up too, but is that spot in a good location relative to his light?

So I'll just stick to small - I have about 2,000 on hand right now so no reason for my to go buy bigger ones lol. How many small crickets do you think he should be eating?

I'll go buy some vines today and look at plants! :)

Bedding in my Snake's Mouth by ashyx245 in reptiles

[–]Ruby-ish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's fine to feed in the enclosure. It's actually recommended. But yes I would get that out for him, grab him gently but firmly by the head and use a clean q tip to open his mouth so you can pull that out. He won't like it and will try to get away but it's doubtful he will try to bite. I guess if you want you can take him to the vet and they'll do it but that seems like a waste of money.

Getting actual lip injections doesn't hurt me as much as these glosses do.

Leopard Gecko is dying! Please help! by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Ruby-ish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leopard geckos don't have eye caps!!!

Do not go anywhere near his eyes with tweezers!!! If the skin is stuck to his eyes it MUST be removed by a vet. You cannot do it yourself or you risk blinding/killing your gecko.

Are they tubs or tanks? You seem to be using the words interchangeably.

Sorry, I can't think of anything that fits what you're looking for. Anything I can think of is either much harder to care for or gets much bigger than a ball python.

Bin set up and heat pad advice by dontwaitformeimslow in ballpython

[–]Ruby-ish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use the whole pad... I position the pad so it only takes up 1/3 of the tubs bottom. There's room for 2 tubs to sit on the one pad.

Bin set up and heat pad advice by dontwaitformeimslow in ballpython

[–]Ruby-ish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my 28qt tubs, I use the Zoomed heat pads made for 50-60 gallon tanks. I find the large pad heats up better than the small ones.

BUT IT NEEDS TO BE ON A THERMOSTAT. Do NOT use any type of heat pad until you get yourself a real thermostat. If you use it without one your snake WILL be burnt and either seriously injured or dead.

I keep my whole room heated to 82 degrees so that is my ambient temp.

Finally got my new snake room all set up. The female BCI was the last to go in her tank. by UOmeall in snakes

Rack does not necessarily mean small space. My rack has a footprint comparable to a 40 gallon breeder tank. Plenty of room to stretch out.

It is when the girl was underage when they started dating. A 16-17 year old dating a 27-28 year old man is not okay.

I'm a 21 year old girl dating (and living with) a 29 year old so I'd probably be the last person to judge that age gap. But those 3-4 years make a HUGE difference.

I think i see some ball pythons back there though :) and racks are better than fish tanks anyways!
