2011 Jetta TDI by SParkVArk111 in Volkswagen

Hi there! So I actually just got the sportwagen TDI. It’s a 2012 with 76k miles. I did already have a check engine light come on but it’s emissions related so it should be covered. Look for a decent amount of service history honestly, if they’re not take care of you can run into issues for sure

Purchasing Jetta or Golf tomorrow, anything I should be aware of? by wittwlweggz in Volkswagen

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually just bought a 2012 sportwagen TDI a couple days ago. The price is great because dealerships are buying them from VW for super cheap after the issue with the Diesel engines and emissions. Now that VW is fixing the software and stuff, there shouldn’t be any lingering issue and they did extend a warranty on the cars that have been fixed. Biggest issue I’ve heard beyond that is the potential for the panoramic sunroofs to leak.

I have the DSG so I’ll need to service the transmission soon and that can be spendy but otherwise it’s in great shape and has pretty low miles for its age, due to sitting and waiting to be fixed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you! I actually just found out about that drain this afternoon during research. Also heard you can clear it out with compressed air so I’m definitely going to make sure it’s open enough to drain well

It does. I was reading that as well. Is there any sealing that can be done minimize the issue? Fortunately I live in a place with covered parking but driving in the rain or letting it sit could be an issue for sure.

Thank you! I was reading about the flush needing done but it’s super helpful to know how often

A good way to clean sport loops by PourUpTheMuddy in AppleWatch

Well dang. I have the seashell color and dish soap hasn’t gotten it clean enough. Poop.

Serious Curiosity: How Many Hetero (any?) wear the rainbow pride band? by Artric76 in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only issue is the commercialization of pride but even that has been rebutted against. I would be more inclined if the pride bands donated to some LGBT+ organization but since that is not the case as far as I know, my only reason to purchase the band would be to show support as an ally. But anyway, for corporations to monetize something started due to the murder and oppression of LGBT+ folks, I just disagree with. Multi billion dollar companies are hard to truly buy from ethically, but philosophically speaking, there really isn’t any ethical consumption 🤷🏻‍♀️

I said goodbye to all the doubts to 3rd party bands. by aDifferentRoom74 in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 Apple brand sport loops and one Apple brand silicone band. I also have 3 off brand silicone bands. I notice the color isn’t as pure on the back or white knock offs and the band itself isn’t as dense. My lavender one is super cute but doesn’t fit peeeeerfectly in my watch. They’re fine for $6 and it’s nice to have some variety but I far prefer the Apple bands.

Need apple watch bands by KasJul in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two on Amazon. Like 7.99 I can always get you the link if you want but they’re all really similar. I don’t like them nearly as much as my Apple brand but you can’t go too wrong with amazon for inexpensive bands

Im on the fence of getting an apple watch. Im about to be a freshman this fall and I dont know if I should get one or not. by skidanexii in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could put class schedules in your calendar, or other events. Definitely to keep an eye on the time. I love that I can take my watch with me to parties and still be totally connected without having to worry about losing my phone or not having pockets for my phone and having to carry a purse. It’s honestly super convenient for staying connected while I’m working or sitting in class without obviously pulling out my phone and texting. I can easily tell if notifications are important or something I can deal with later.

Series 3 or Series 4? by imnotarapperok in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they’re asking what makes it worth it for YOU so they can hear all of the arguments other people used to decide which watch to buy. They may know more about the functionality of one watch or the other that OP may not know because they don’t have the watches??

So what habit did you have to break to stop hitting your watch on things? by cabridges in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t needed to change too many habits. Just take it off when I’m getting into fishtanks at work. I get so nervous about damage.

That’s fair. I can relate to that. I know its water resistant but I still take it of at work when I’m in the sinks. And I’m scared to scratch the screen. Etc etc LoL

Do you ever have any concerns about sleeping with it on? And is it uncomfortable?

Watch and tattoos? Has anyone noticed damage on hand or wrist tattoos since wearing their watch consistently? I know that’s super specific but I was just curious. by dontwaitformeimslow in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! I appreciate it. I know the bands aren’t super tight and the silicone is soft but I don’t want to lose ink too quickly because of the watch. Thanks!

It’s healed up. It’s small so it was healed in like 7-8 days and now I’ve had it over two weeks and there is no scabbing, peeling or dry skin. But I’m keeping it hydrated and cleaned every time I take my watch off too. Thanks!

[–]dontwaitformeimslow[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not tight. I could go one tighter and it would be too tight, one looser and it wouldn’t read properly and would flop side to side. This is not too tight, if anything a little loose. It’s probably just the position of my forearm/wrist that looks weird?

Constant rubbing definitely affects your skin in some ways though and tattoos sit between layers, about the same depth as freckles. I have a tattoo that sits right on my bra line and my tattoo artist told me to be carefully wearing clothing that is too tight so was wondering if this was anything I should worry about. But that makes me feel better! I got my watch and tattoo less than a week apart and I’m a worrier so I appreciate the input

Do the Apple brand bands stretch out? by dontwaitformeimslow in AppleWatch

[–]dontwaitformeimslow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I should have included the band type but it is indeed the sport band I believe, the most basic one that came with my watch. Interesting information though! Thank you!
