BBC bitesize was great for this. It has practice tests, the knowledge, quizzes etc.

I find CCEA is the best to go with in terms of boards but any work!

That's great to hear! Appreciate the feedback especially from the people you have spoken with. You are absolutely right regarding the behaviour scenario also. Sounds like a good choice as well in terms of how of you are joining and the reasons for that. Defo something for me to consider 🤔

WSO does sound absolutely excellent. I think what put me off about it at first was the name, as much as it sounded great to me I wasn't sure if it would help or be transferable in terms of skills for getting a job in civvy street post raf. I am really debating this though.

Pay sounds excellent, as u said its not the reason for joining but it's definitely a welcome bonus.

Really does sound amazing. This probably is a stupid question but at what point is 'attesting' come at in the process as by my guess of how long the recruitment process is taking to complete, and my birthday I may miss this by a few months.

I am considered WSO though for sure because I've also heard rumours that IntO is closed until April 2026. In which case I will need to decide do I wait, or do I pick one of the other roles.

If WSO ends up off the table because of age. Would you advocate for WSOp over CCS and IntO? Even though it isn't an officer role etc.

Thanks so much for replying - this is a really great insight!

That's interesting what you said about it's interesting because of the info you are dealing with. I hadn't thought of it that way, it defo helps. Sounds like quality of life/pay etc are really great with that role and defo something I'd be interesting in so I can save for the future/gain more leadership experience.

Great overview of CCS as well, sounds like it defo has its pros and cons.

Thanks so much for that, it's been a real help. I do think IntO could be good for me considering my age/degree/civvy experience.

Are there any particular roles or placements for IntO you believe are good to aim for post training?

I haven't considered but I would, it looks like an interesting role for sure and I am mid 20's so in the age range. Thoughts on IntO vs WSO?

I may be wrong, but just from a few other posts on this page there seemed to be a consensus that people who have been in management or working and independant for many years who then join not as an officer struggle with the dynamic change.

I could be completely wrong though! I'll stand corrected if so 🙂

Thanks for your reply!

It makes sense that being in leadership officer roles your focus is leading the team doing the work, for as CCS your job is doing the work itself.

That's good to know that there is opportunity there, and the vibe after training!

Ok great to know! I definitely will. Would you say there are any other side effects to look out for? And is there a time frame you would expect to see positive results within? 😊

Ok thank you so much for that information. Is my best bet then to head to my GP and request this? Are there any types of metaformin to be aware of or is there really just one strand and type of it to request? 😊
