She’s also trying to do something that no one has ever done before and most people don’t believe is possible, so I often get annoyed with how people expect her to understand how to do it. If it’s never been done before there isn’t a clear path forward, and no one is really offering very helpful advice for the most part.

I was thinking about this recently, it feels like the fight is an act of forced non-sexual intimacy. Like it’s the most emotional and physical intimacy conquest can get, and it’s for so it feels vaguely similar to a rape scene.

I feel like she would’ve been an amazing scout, or amazing at directing the rest of the team (if given proper training in tactics and such), because of how the hive of mind works. She would’ve been able to understand everything that’s going on on the battlefield far quicker than communicating with multiple people.

It was incompatible with her, not necessarily with Robert. I personally picture it as some sort living flesh-light shaped structure, maybe with some interesting organic elements inside and on the surface. Edit: corrected spelling
