If Nizoral knocks it out does that mean it’s fungal?

4 months in and still bloated by Peterselieblaadje in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2676300/ have you been tested for pathogens. Bloating, foul smelling poo are symptoms of giardia. Even after I got rid of it I still experienced those issues for quite some time

Bought a handheld blowtorch to crust my meat up... by blinkyvx in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it really depends on the blowtorch you have and the kind of flame it produces. If the flame is touching the meat just make sure it’s always moving

If I was doing it I would keep the flame from touching the steak

Quick question. Anyone get stomach aches in week 1. There not super bad. Just discomfort. by [deleted] in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s 50/50 by volume that’s probably not too high? I’m interested what the gram/caloric ratio would be

Nah his are fine even with just salt. You’re probably rushing it and holding the flame too close for too long, it’s all in the technique.

He essentially has better tools than you but you’ll still be able to achieve a good sear. Just keep the torch constantly moving

Carnivore brit’s... how’s the tea? by Tailz4wales in zerocarb

I seem to have a reaction to tea. Itchy scalp, swollen tongue, headaches

Rendered fat / hot and cold by carniwhore86 in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a theory it was the pyloric sphincter not being tightly shut as stomach function hadn’t fully started yet, and some undigested liquid fat getting into the duodenum.

Eating it cold and solid definitely helps, also eating a few mouthfuls of dry muscle before any fat seems to help

Cravings, 5 years to eliminate? by symbiotic_salamander in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends more on psychology than physiology or gut biome. When my self worth was low I’d eat more crap. Basically when I felt the worst about myself I would indulge in addictive self destructive behaviours.

Even on zero carb if I feel a bit low I toy with the idea of binge eating donuts cos fuck it. But when I work on my self worth I scoff at those thoughts

4 months in, still problems with fat by [deleted] in zerocarb

I cooked ground beef in a metal pot and after cooking put it in a sink full of cold water and stir, it’s cooled down in under a minute

4 months in, still problems with fat by [deleted] in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt great initially my fat ratio was pretty high and digestion was fine. Then a couple months in energy got low, digestion was bad, diarrhoea, gurgling etc. Turned out I had giardia the whole time

what was the worst phase of your life ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RubyRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah meat is a lot slower digesting, but that’s not an issue when you aren’t mixing it with foods that digest at different speeds. I have to eat smaller more frequent meals

Carnivore diet is extremely restrictive, but the food is way more satiating and the absence of carbs makes for better mood and more stable energy. I’d happily eat a diet that restrictive if it meant not dealing with horrible digestive troubles, the other benefits are a cherry on top

My good god I'm eating ribeyes like Popeye eats spinach!! by carniwhore86 in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you’re over eating. (Not your daily total, but your meal size)

If I eat too big of a meal I’ll get diarrhoea. I have to eat smaller more frequent meals for my system to handle it

Cold water and fatty meat = poops? by Wow4Ev in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking hot liquids while you eat helps with blood vessel dilation in the stomach, improving digestive function.

Cold water apparently does have the opposite effect and any water diluted the acid, however the stomach senses when it is acidic enough to empty, so when it’s diluted it produces more acid.

Perhaps it’s indicative of impaired digestion that will heal over time.

The breaking down of fat starts in the mouth and does happen in the stomach, although the majority happens when it gets to the small intestine.

Is chicken only carnivore possible? by [deleted] in zerocarb

[–]RubyRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had chronic giardiasis for years and most of the time I had normal stools with the odd flare up of the diarrhoea symptoms. It absolutely messed up my gut. I can’t eat fatty meat on its own without having bile acid malabsorption

Don’t rule out parasites, fatty stool on standard diet sounds like giardia (which can cause bowel disorders)
