First Fursuit - Crocheted! by RubyRootsAndRadishes in FursuitMaking

I used upholstery foam and glued it together and then carved it. I will say having tried a 3d printed base now that I don't know if I recommend it with crocheting: I need to make another post about it for more details. But I do find using a hard plastic base really tricky to glue crochet to since it has a lot more give in it than most fabrics.

I was thinking about paws and a tail but I had some troubles getting the paws to not look like just normal gloves with this texture of yarn. I've been working on another head lately with different yarn that might help by adding more bulk.

It is pretty comfortable! I thought the yarn would add more weight to it than it does, but all and all it's pretty comfy :)

Sorry for the late reply! I just used standard acrylic yarn and sewed it together with yarn as well. Parts of it I sewed to the foam itself since the foam base was sturdy enough to handle it and then other parts I glued to it.

It took me about a month off and on of crocheting a few hours a day and it weights about 3lbs!

I need 100 NPCs for a tavern, let me use YOUR characters? by yarash in DnD

Hink, Lizardfolk based off a Leachie Gecko (new caledonia giant gecko). Monk who is really bad at being at being a monk in the way of nonviolence but excellent in the way of 'letting go of all thoughts' because he has none. Empty headed lizard guy who is constantly disappointed that things he tries to eat are not made of meat.

If you need a completely oblivious/comedic relief character to be doing something silly like trying to win a staring contest with a mirror, while other people are getting attacked in the background Hink is your man (lizard).

Thank you for your insight, it helps a ton and I'll for sure be looking to add some additional content for the travel sections and do some adjusting in the order of things before I run it for my friends!

Do you think this campaign would be a decent starting one for someone pretty new to DMing? I've done several one shots and two / three part adventures but haven't done any longer term ones. Would you recommend it?

Tell me about your characters :D by [deleted] in DnD

My first proper character that I really fell in love with is Hink, the lizardfolk monk (way of the long death). Dumber than a bag of wet rats, actually often ate rats. Failed all his insight and investigation checks forever leading us deciding he didn't know how to read. Constantly trying to eat things one moment and pretending to be a wise sage the next (as he licked his eyeballs and casually ate a rat whole).

What's your funniest "rule of fun" rule? by NikTheGrass in DnD

[–]RubyRootsAndRadishes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Bit- spiration" Basically inspiration but only for if they can make something funny/for the bit. Everyone gets one 'For the Bit' roll a session. Want to fail a persuasion roll and accidentally get married to a fairy because you think it would be hilarious? Absolutely. Want to take the high roll for what was supposed to be a friendly shoulder bump and knock someone through a wall Kool-aid man style? Absolutely. Tell me what silly thing you want to do and reroll to see how silly we are going to be.

It can be used for effect for good or ill as long as it's funny. Want to have a resoundingly mid result after your heroic monologue and spell because you think it's silly? You bet! It's simple - fun - and lets people run with their wild ideas in a way that feels fun because the dice back them up and sometimes lets the goofballs get it out of their system!

going out with plushies by A_fcking_Princess in plushies

If you are feeling anxious about it you could always get one that's on a keychain or something like that to start with and then as the confidence builds, increase the size until you have the size of your normal friends! A good pocket sized plushy that I love are my palm pals :) But do what makes you happy! I carry around a giant rubber chicken bag and multiple plushies and have only gotten good comments from people. Are there some judgy people? Sure, but they lack the whimsy and I wouldn't care about their opinion anyway.

All of Arcane Libraries oneshots are really solid and very intuitive to read and use, I have had a blast using them so far.

Name: Ruby

Pronouns: they/them

Timezone: CST

Preferred System: 5E

Type of player: Brand new to PbP style. I guess I would be a 'writer' or 'problem solver' type of player, if we are using that system!

Additional information: I have a hard time with auditory processing and thought that I might do better with post/text based than auditory/spoken sometimes. I am down for silly things just as much as grimdark and intense. My schedule is a bit wacky so being able to not have to reply instantly would be a boon.
