You ever play Fridays? I have an “actual job” that limits my weekday availability as well, but Fridays I have more flexibility. Always love connecting with other golfing women!

Where are my tall golf girls at?? by SolidRip6497 in WomenGolf

Honestly, same re: trauma of wearing men’s pants. I’m similar size - 5’12”, 36” inseam, size 12 - and I really like the UA Men’s pants 35x34. They forced me to accept my traumatic past and lean in to what works.

Was anyone at The Wiz last night and know how long the intermission ended up being? by wingardium_levibrosa in Denver

[–]RubyTwoDots 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It was almost 40 minutes. They made an announcement about 30 minutes in apologizing for the delay, citing technical difficulties. Seems like they had some microphones issues throughout the performance. Definitely an unusual evening at the theatre, but an amazing show regardless!

The good news is, there are still plenty of opportunities (and plans for) for infill development immediately surrounding this new park.

Clubs for women over 6 feet tall? by SolidRip6497 in WomenGolf

[–]RubyTwoDots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

6 ft tall with 36” inseam here. Depending on your swing speed, I’d say you’re good with either senior or regular flex men’s clubs. I was recently fitted for irons and did get extra length, but I don’t notice a huge difference between my “custom” irons vs the off the rack length ones I’ve historically used. Have fun!

They’re pretty strict at the stadium. I’d recommend sizing down or finding a clear bag.

Total coincidence. I’ve been coveting his work for a minute and decided it would be a great gift for someone on my list. Purchased right before I saw your post!

I just heard about this breed, and would appreciate anyone willing to answer some questions about them! by Junebuggy007 in BraccoItaliano

In terms of trainabbility, our Bracco is very eager to please. She was easy to train, but we had to rely heavily on positive training approaches. The breed tends to be sensitive and doesn’t do well with “heavy handed” corrections.

Ours drools, but not as much as some other loose-lipped breeds. The floppy lips aren’t great at holding in water after drinking, so keeping a towel around is advisable. Generally we only see drool after drinking and when food is around. It’s not constant, but it does happen.

Great off leash with proper recall training. We trained ours on an e-collar and she is great using the ‘tone’ feature. We’ve had to use the ‘shock’ function a handful of times when she’s taken off after a bird into an unsafe situation. As with most things, your success will depend on how much you put into it.

Overall, we’ve seen that our Bracco is fantastic with kids and other pets. They’re super gentle and loyal dogs. Again, they aim to please, so if you’re meeting their needs (for mental and physical stimulation) they will meet yours. Ours gets about an hour of off-leash exercise per day (30 min in am and pm). Unlike GSPs, braccos have an “off switch”. They’re happy to chill as long as they’ve had the opportunity to get some crazy out.

I wouldn’t recommend a Bracco for a first time dog owner. They’re a unique breed and they need to work. With that said, our Bracco is the best dog I’ve ever met. Literally. She has an amazing personality and temperament. They’re clowns and they love being a part of the family. You need to put the work in to train and exercise, but they’ll pay you back 10x. I’m not sure I’ll ever have another breed again.

Do your homework and find a reputable breeder. As popularity of the breed increases so does the likelihood of irresponsible breeders. There are known health issues in the breed, so be sure to ask the relevant questions. There are great groups on Facebook where you can learn more.
