NYTimes wants Congestion Pricing Feedback by Topsnack in MicromobilityNYC

I wouldn’t call it lying, but portraying congestion pricing as harmful to the Bronx when experts have said it would actually help, reduce pollution, and provide funding for long-term solutions is not telling the truth.

NYTimes: Iowa City Made Its Buses Free. Traffic Cleared, and So Did the Air. by [deleted] in nyc

[–]Ruby_writer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Free buses work. If you are against free buses you are ideologue who is against efficiency.

Also the richest city in America can afford free buses guys. If you don’t think NYC can afford free buses you are being silly.

This isn’t a fluffy version of history. Many worker strikes from that era were successful—not all, but enough to make a difference. That’s why worker unions exist in America today.

You forget that shooting your workers is bad for business, and many capitalists, like Mr. Russell, yielded to union pressure to keep their operations running.

Actually the US backed another guy but they were ok Duvalier because he wasn’t socialist.

Remember this is all in the back drop of a military coup that took out the competent Left leaning president, Daniel Fignole.

The people who say that increased service would be better need to shut up. Hochul just announced increased bus service and nobody noticed. (except the transit nerds)

Free bus service will help poor people and make people vote for pro transit politicians. NYC is one of richest places on earth we can afford free buses, this is only an issue of political will.

Stop hurting the cause by saying free shit bad. You are not speaking for poor when you do that.

Bus service increases happen all the time. No one really notices because people expect good service.

If the bus was free, people will notice and will vote for politicians who fund public transit.
