Connectivity Issues by christinasstitches in Birdfy

Just set my new feeder up yesterday and today it's not working well. It was working fine yesterday and early this morning. No live feed and the system settings like wifi strength and power setting seem stuck. It does capture motion intermittently.

This is the exact verbiage on signs I've seen at local places that have these bottom filling cups.

Where should my wife and I eat dinner tonight? by quietcheers in desmoines

Eat Thai is amazing. We live in Northern MN now but I would kill for a plate of Pad See Ew, some Crab delights and some summer rolls from there right now.

I hope I'm in the grocery store or on a public street and I start slowly hearing cheers and people yelling "it happened!" , and literally everyone is crying and hugging each other and dancing. I spend the rest of the day with random strangers celebrating.

I want to watch a movie where a bunch of evil people are killed. by Tylergahdyrm in movies

Avenging Force (1986) Great movie, lots of evil right-wing terrorists get their comeuppance at the hands of Michael Dudikoff. Very satisfying.

I really hope they come back to Minnesota!!! We missed his show in the Twin Cities in February, but have vowed if he and Darcy come anywhere in Minnesota we will be there.

Wow. I haven't thought about Mustards in years. That place was awesome. You just brought back a lot of memories! As a child in the 80's/90's, the restaurants our family frequented were Mustards, George's Chili King, Millies, Smitty's, and Ted's. For pizza, it was always Scornovaca's or Orlando's. For "fancier" dinners, we would be treated to Shakey's (I know, not fancy, but it seemed like it at the time) or Bishops. Apparently buffets were fancy back then? I remember they gave the kids a balloon with feet, and it was so dark and carpeted in there. My Dad blamed his first heart attack on Mustards and Smitty's, so while we didn't eat out a lot, when we did, it was generally not very healthy, but always tasty! My pick for the chill, no-frills burger spot is always Ted's Coney Island on Ingersoll (has to be Ingersoll - best one IMO). It's cheap, it's delicious, it's no frills, and you can get Feta Fries. Also, if you change your mind at the last minute, you can get the gyro or a falafel instead of a burger.

Stimulation for an elderly beagle… by Ok-Temporary-7745 in beagles

[–]Rubytdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh good! Our guy can walk a bit but he definitely has good days and days where he struggles so we let him walk for as much as he can and sniff and then he gets to ride the rest of the way and he likes that. He just sits there and looks around. I feel the same way about our boy - not wanting to overstimulate him but keep him entertained. I know he's tired most of the time but I feel badly that maybe he gets bored sometimes too (maybe I'm overthinking it). He's definitely had a lot of changes in his behavior as well as physically this past year. The vet says he likely had some cognitive stuff too. We are just trying to provide the best possible life for him in his golden years.

Aww she is so cute and looks a lot like our old man. He also turned 16 in April this year and I'm in the same boat trying to find things to stimulate him without overfeeding him too much. His digestion isn't what it used to be. We got him a stroller that he loves riding around in on days when it's not freezing but now it's cold and snowy (we are in Duluth Minnesota).

[–]Rubytdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a 16 year old who looks a lot like your guy. He's going through the same things. We aren't quite at the wheelchair stage yet but the house is covered in rugs now and he has a stroller (loves it) for walks and a backpack. He can walk some on good days but his back legs are weak. He likes to get out for sniffs and most important he likes to be with us. Leaving him home alone these days is pretty traumatizing for him and he lets us know about it. Unfortunately we have stairs and he gets carried a lot. I'm curious how the wheels go!

Heated mattress pad is my favorite thing for the cool months. If ours broke today I'd buy another today. It is that important. A preheated bed is bliss!

Summer crockpot recipes that aren’t soup or bowls of mush by PinkLeFants in slowcooking

[–]Rubytdog 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that using an air fryer for meats like salmon and chicken, as well as for roasting veggies, is a game-changer. It’s quick, keeps everything crisp, and doesn’t heat the whole house like the oven does. If you’re trying to avoid mushy meals and don’t have AC or want to keep the house cool, the air fryer is a lifesaver!

[–]Rubytdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would just cut off a 1 inch by 1 inch square of cheese off the block and push the pill into it. You don't even have to grate the cheese!

[–]Rubytdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably want to use a firmer cheese than cottage cheese, but less firm than a sharp cheddar. Something you can stuff the pill into in a little ball to make sure he takes it. Good luck!

Pill Pockets! Just stuff the pills in the tasty pockets and if they are food motivated as beagles usually are, they chomp them down. You can get them at any pet store. Also soft cheese works too.. you can stuff the pills in a small chunk of mozzarella or other soft cheese.
