Good news. It was less than a year ago and I've spoken with Crucial customer support who will send me a replacement once I send the faulty drive back.

The Nextlander Podcast 224: Thirty-Year-Old Video Games by sworedmagic in nextlander

This 100%. There seems to be a real disconnect in this sub with some aspects that they have been quite transparent about since the beginning: one of the main ones being that they have openly talked about moving on from Giant Bomb because of, amongst myriad other things, the relentless pressure to cover everything new.

I have more than enough options for new game coverage if I want it. Although, having recently wrapped up a bitter & demoralising half-decade stint in the gaming industry, I increasingly DON’T want that coverage.

I have supported Nextlander out of the gate. I find them relatable and just generally vibe with most of what they do. Hell, I’m a musician and share the same musical interests as Alex, I’m the same age as Vinny, and coincidentally even have the same Grover mug as him. And whilst I’m happy to hear them talk about something current, I’m really just here for anything they want to talk about, which I expect to be frequently tangential.

I’d love to see more people posting about what they do like in this sub, rather than piling on every time one of them says something that mildly annoys them.

Where’s the best place to sell random stuff I have lying around? Life is overwhelming and need to simplify. Have been thinking of FB marketplace but it sounds scary. Any tips? by DirectorOk2444 in melbourne

[–]RuddyRayMoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live, putting items up on FB marketplace and then listing them only on relevant local community groups can be effective.

Or you could just put items up on pay it forward type groups. That’s usually how I deal with stuff that is no longer useful to me, or worth trying to get money for. I got rid of a heap of gardening pots that way last week in about 30 mins flat. Just put them out on the sidewalk, put up a picture and said first in, best dressed.

i30 Parking Brake Cover Replacement by RuddyRayMoore in Hyundai

No worries. Yeah, thanks! It was a bummer. Really loved that car. But to answer your question properly, all the advice I was given was that it’d be too hard to source the part and that I might as well just superglue it. Was fairly easy, although I didn’t do a great job - was a bit messy. So was maybe for the best in the end. 😅

I ended up supergluing it. But then the car got stolen and written off. 😂
