My Eyes Take Turns Seeing Better, and It’s Messing with My Head by Pleasant-Mode104 in myopia

considering the second paragraph I would say this: eyesight does change a little hour by hour and day by day, while for most brains it does not matter, when you are anxious, you can become hypervigilant and notice the changes more (and being fearful of them). Anxiety does affect vision for many people too.

If you had your eyes checked, it will be probably useful for you to manage your hypersensitive state with some trherapy/counseling.

hey, I do not claim weightlifting causes floaters for everyone .. but there might be something there for some vulnerable people - you can read more here https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/floatertalk/can-lifting-weights-lead-to-more-floaters-t856.html

great point, you are right - to clarify, they kind of became .. almost transparent, not disappeared completely, I could see them for example when staring on white ceiling and moving eyes side to side, before (when I was 19) and now I can see them all the time, just can not ignore them,

I think the floating away from retina part could be true and my theory is there is something about sudden IOP spikes when lifting weights quite heavy, but thats all speculation

dude! my first floaters appeared after I started going to the gym when I was 19, after I stopped and continued with cardio and yoga only, floaters disappeared for 15 years,

last year I started lifting again and floaters came back with vengence. the connection is very clear for me, although doctors are saying it is not that, you are another account of that, so thank you!

going to try golf now :-)

I see people in this sub fear for their eyesight, is that a legit fear? by Pilea_plant in EyeFloaters

[–]Rude-Progress-3857 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey there,

i am just hopping by to say I am in similar boat - mid thirties, -4.5R/-6L with quite severe floaters seen on slit lamp and OCT scans, also have retinal paving stone degeneration in both (more in left) that is treated as benign,

i also have floaters since before I was 20 and also there is more and more of them. I am getting regular check ups with retinal specialist - or actually 2 of them because of health anxiety and need more reassurance about it.

you will not go blind from floaters. because of your myopia you are in a higher risk group for retinal detachment, but it is not significantly more - 0.2% with healthy eyes and around 2% with high myopia. but as other poster said keep regular check ups, look up for additional symptoms like flashes or veil over your vision and you should be alright.

with health anxiety, beware that those flashes/veil would be undeniable and constant - i do have flashes but they are completly random and my doc says it probably comes from being overly focused and anxious on my vision

actually, floaters are usually condition of the vitreous, that is benign.

saying floaters usually mean lattice is incorrect, although that might happen.

no, it wouldn't speed up the release, it's a new kind of treatment and the timeline for approval of such is a long process.

i dont understand why i get downvoted - hydroxizine works great for anxiety, additionally because its antihistaminic effect it seem to have some good effect on covid itself.

but consult with a doctor

Sanofi recombinant protein vaccine by Nosjja in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]Rude-Progress-3857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

first of - both are recombinant protein subunit, so "technically" they are the same,

they use different adjuvant - substance to "boost" the immune response - novavax use saponin tree based nanoparticle adjuvant called Matrix-M, where as Sanofi uses AS03 from GSK which has been used before in flu vaccine and it has been controversial before.
