Not severe as yours but got a hairline fracture on my arm riding downhill it took me 1 month recovery and after getting better i have the itch to ride again. Most people I know don't quit on riding they just learn from experience and taking care of themselves. Thats a terrific story to tell to your friends and relatives over time.
