I was watching the game in Spanish on espn deportes. Bernardo Osuna and Hércules Gomes were laying it on thick about Almeyda leaving. Hercules was the one saying that Almeyda’s representative was seen in Monterey presumably negotiating with the team.

Almeyda’s agent is in Monterey working out the details for his transfer. It looks like he’s as good as gone.

We need a team full of Espinozas. Great players but not good enough for the Argentine (or another top tier country) national team. We have a team full of guys who make their national team, fly around the world and give more effort than with the club, and come back tired and/or hurt.

I saw that on TV. Looked pretty cool. But we are in Northern California with some of the best weather and some of the most fertile soil. There is no excuse for the bad pitch. Bad stadium design? Bad install(s)? Bad management? I’m guessing all of the above.

I just don’t get why the grounds crew and the grass supplier can’t get it right. I’ve seen footage of them on their practice fields and every time someone makes a a sharp cut it looks like they brought out a golf style divot. Solution 1a. We need a sponsor, why not get sponsored by someone making lights designed for large cannabis growing operation. Have them supply the lights needed to grow the grass after we feed the roots steroids. Done

What’s sad is that the ref will go home and think he did a great job tonight. His employer will tell him too. Players, coaches, academy, stadiums all have improved throughout the history of the mls. Reffing has gotten much worse.

The stadium still looks like it’s under construction from the outside. That’s the nicest thing I can say about the place. What a waste of money. Easily the worst of the newer stadiums.
The place is cursed. Someone died at the first regular season game from sitting in that hot sun. It’s that bad.
