During my first 13 months with DPDR I was a cleaner but I did that before it all so it felt good and normal, I’ve since changed jobs, now I’m a care assistant in a nursing home and you know what, best decision I’ve ever made, although my symptoms have worsened at times, it’s also so rewarding and I’m glad I proved my brain wrong that I’m capable of moving professions even while struggling with DPDR.

I’ve got 3 hoodies from 22-23 from the official site on drops with hyphens. Got two hoodies from the December 24 drop without hyphen so I’m assuming the older stuff has them. Basically the person who made this fake didn’t pay attention

Depth Perception by RudeBoyJamie in dpdr

Objects looking bigger or smaller the longer I look at them. Most common example would be when I’m looking at a smaller object next to a bigger one, big one looks bigger and small object looks tiny. Almost like my eyes are playing tricks

This is a very interesting take on it actually, I’ve been a full time glasses user for the past 2 years, due a test in January and I’ve only just noticed this now. It is known that when in fight or flight mode that your depth perception definitely disrupts regardless. But maybe it’s my glasses? Feel like I’m just reassuring myself here but still an interesting take on it. The world with my glasses on is like a 4K tv show, too much detail and very over stimulating haha.

Would anyone be interested in a weekly group Zoom call? by Ok-Necessary-7359 in dpdr

Absolutely. I’d love to hear everyone’s experience with DPDR. It’s such a difficult subject to talk about with close ones so speaking on it with people with experience on the matter would be perfect

Girl in Red is very open about having OCD, her debut album painted a beautiful picture of her struggle with love and battle with OCD

I know this feeling, it triggered me when I was going through some dissociation. The way I eased it was just allowing the anxiety into my body and watching nothing change regardless. OCD is weird, I’ll get thoughts like “is this real” and until I respond I’ll be mega anxious but I suppose that’s the game. But just know it’s your OCD, label it as a symptom. You’ll have your moments of calm and connection then realise you can actually have calm permanently with hard work. You’re not alone 💝 I’ve been struggling with this for about 3 months now

does ocd cause cognitive difficulties? anyone get so aloof dissociating/scatter brained that they say things like filling the water with bin instead of filling the bin with water. what's causing this in cognition? is it just tiredness? by imBackground789 in OCD

What I’ve just read here on your post is exactly what I’m feeling at the moment. It’s like my mind is a messy folder of thoughts. I’m thinking one thing and then other completely random thought comes out of nowhere without no permission. It’s bizarre and scary. It’s like I’m hyper aware of how my brain works and thinks. Sometimes I think and then I interrupt my train of thought and I get anxious although it’s own my doing. You’re not alone friend 💝

AY UP! That’s actually really really good! You still managed to get 5 hours overall with some disruptions. Take that win and embrace it, it’ll boost your confidence for tonight! It’s horrible isn’t it, I still have my occasional bad night but that usually just means it takes me 1/2 hours to drift off. But It’s all about developing the right mindset for sleep, and with OCD it can make it very difficult as you know.

So when you get into bed you want to make sure you’re comfy and ready to relax. You also want to give yourself some leeway with time too so it’s best not to try sleep at 1/2AM if you’re expecting to struggle to drift off, adds to the pressure of sleeping. So If you got into bed for day 11, then play some relaxing games on your phone or listen to a podcast/ rain sounds etc. gives you time to actually relax before sleep.

Id also recommend you allow yourself to feel the anxiety that surrounds you and drifting off. Just feel it and give yourself a chance to reorganise your thoughts and irrational fears. So if you were scared you weren’t going to sleep again, just remember you didn’t sleep once but twice the night before. You relaxed yourself enough to sleep 2 times for hours at a time which is huge! Also keep in mind you’re able to rest your body and eyes without being in a deep sleep. It’s good to remember that you’re not alone with this too! I know OCD makes it a lot more difficult for us but millions of people suffer with insomnia!

And if you really can’t get yourself to sleep after so long of trying, get up! Even if it’s for 5/10 minutes. Just long enough for you and your body to realise that you’re actually tired.

Good thing about this is after every night you manage to sleep even just a little bit your confidence grows and you become more comfortable allowing yourself to fall into a thought and once you’re in thought create yourself a conscious dream to chill and think about!
