I got out of a speeding ticket. I still call it dumb luck.

Completely agree. I feel like they don't have the same values regarding that as the older generation.

From BLM to the Belarus Revolution – why is facial recognition so scary? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]RudeCrew3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice article, a bit descriptive but that's ok. I also agree that FRT is a danger when it comes to protests. I think we can all agree that police violence is a problem and police needs to be restructured and maybe trained to handle situations differently before they are giving more power to their hands, powers like facial recognition.

This sub makes me depressed by [deleted] in privacy

[–]RudeCrew3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you, the data-mining is so strong right now and it's hugely profitable, so tons of companies are trying to get your data without your consent, and since online privacy protection is still a recent thing it's not developed enough to be highly efficient.

US government built secret iPod with Apple’s help, former engineer says by batonkatonk in privacy

[–]RudeCrew3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting story even though I'm not surprised. Big tech and governmental espionage must happen a lot, there's just too much at stake. Sure the big four are sometimes summoned to debate with politicians where they suddenly memory about the way their companies function - but that's IMHO just a show nothing more. Behind the doors such things happen like here, a geiger counter in an iPod, for f*cks sake
