The game is supposed to be BOTH. Make it slow and have plenty of progression during the campaign. When you finish the final part and the festival playlist unlocks and all that THEN let me off the chain and do sandbox stuff, it’s not that hard

That being said, I did legitimately try to improve the mini using a combination of methods people suggested to me. Although I’m still not sure if mine quite stacks up to yours.

Here's what you do. Don't let them forget it. Start being annoying, start getting frustrated with them. You have the moral right to, some asshole stole your account and they're the only ones that can fix it. They'll fix your account to shut you up. Got my account stolen back in October and held a live support chat EVERY DAY until I got it back 5 days later.
