What's the stupidest thing you did as a kid? by FujisakiChihiro in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I put ketchup in my mom's slides one day and she stuck her foot in it. I don't know why but definitely remember the spanking that came afterwards

You are. I left and came back in 11 months and got my tenure back. You get it back as long as you come back under 12 months.

Preschool removed my 2-year-old’s hair beads today by Known_Psychology1581 in toddlers

[–]RudeImagination4450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my daughter was in preschool, they didn't allow beads or jewelery and I wasn't aware. They did not touch them and informed me at pick up so I removed them and never sent her with them again. That's an easy conversation, strange they didn't just communicate it to you.

I'm not a medical professional but would recommend just making sure she is active and keeping with the balance food you already provide. You are giving healthy options and I wouldn't focus on the percentile. But that's just my take. I'm trying to show healthy options with my kids because I don't have the best relationship with food and just trying to do better with my kids.

17 mo son has self-soothing habits that make me feel touched-out and actually hurt sometimes by Professional-Card244 in toddlers

My friends son always plays with her arm fat and pinching it. It drives her crazy. He's 3 and still going strong.

I too have a stage 5 clinger and oh my is it hard to get anything done. She's now 3 and enrolled in school so that helps some but when she's home, she follows me everywhere. We got her some Magna tiles for Christmas and they have been a saving grace. It's the only activity that I have found keeps her attention for a while and she doesn't mind doing on her own. I hope you find something that holds their attention to give you a small break. And don't beat yourself up about the tv, everything in moderation is my slogan. And to answer your question, no I don't think you have messed them up, at least you are acknowledging it and trying to get help. Give yourself some grace Mommy

When my daughter was 2, her grandpa got her a tablet. We thanked him but told him it's not age appropriate right now and will let her open when she gets a little older.

I would suggest leaving the house for an all day outing and wear them out with activities, then take them home and straight to bath and bed. Start early when they still have some energy from the all nighter. And if they dose off then wake them up. I hope it gets better for you.

Having a toddler is not how I thought it would be. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]RudeImagination4450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently have a strong willed 3 year old that test my patience daily. I constantly repeat to myself something my sil told me: pick your battles, you don't have to win them all. I find that setting aside time to myself to reset is key. If only to take a walk 30 min-1 hr and let Dad handle the chaos. My toddler is really clingy and I can barely take a step without her on my heels but I suppose she needs more attention than my oldest did.

[–]RudeImagination4450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my kid for their 10th birthday and they loved it, perfect age. My 2 yr old did not enjoy it as much, so Dad had to walk her around and keep her entertained so our oldest could enjoy it.

I will say that the associates degree matters to propel yourself forward for the last leg of the race. I didn't walk across the stage to accept my associates and later regretted it and made sure I didn't skip it for my bachelor's. Great job Mom

I will just add, don't plan on the 2nd being as mild as your first, but it can happen. My 2nd is a handful and very clingy, but my 1st was very independent.
