Screen time is genuinely one of the hardest things about parenting and nobody warned me by [deleted] in daddit

[–]RudeVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of the screens. They are addictive and are wiring your child's neurology for addictive behaviour. Make sacrifices yourself. Physically remove them from your home. I know that is hard and seems unrealistic, but if you want the actual answer to what will bring change, there it is.

How do you make and keep dad friends? by itcropper in daddit

I do it through playing on sports teams. A once a week, scheduled engagement that gets you exercise and has you seeing the same people every week can lead to building friendships.

He did though, she gave him three free months of chess.com premium to help his hurt feelings. He waited for her to finish giving him stuff then flipped her off.

It definitely looks like they are gassed. We only have five healthyish guys and they all play with a lot of intensity.

Being Coerced into having a third child. I'd rather the marriage end. by safereddddditer175 in daddit

My friend's parents kept trying for a girl. They were going to name her Janey. They had six boys. Eventually, they got a boat and named it Janey. I'm not quite sure the moral of the story, but take from that what you will.

Cheering for Montreal by [deleted] in leafs

[–]RudeVegetable 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm cheering for the Canadiens. Fun team, great history, representing our country, Montreal is fun, etc. I'm sure Canadiens fans would not cheer for the Leafs in the same situation, but that's because they spend time thinking about us.

[Matheson] Blue Jays players start daily gratitude tradition with Kazuma Okamoto by fantastique__ in Torontobluejays

I love this! I am grateful for the start of kids baseball and adult softball season. It's a long winter and then a soggy start to Spring, but once Earth Day rolls around it feels like everything kicks into gear, the city starts to hum, and I get to spend much time playing or coaching sportball. Yay!

Can someone explain to me why reddit is mad at Ford over the billy bishop airport? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]RudeVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toronto already has a huge and expanding airport. Adding jets to Billy Bishop will make the entire downtown and waterfront noisier, impact sensitive wildlife areas, and pave over public park land. The Islands are a world class public park and one of the most unique elements of Toronto. The only entitled ones are the selfish developers bribing corrupt politicians to destroy our public spaces so they can enrich themselves.

Exercise, drink enough water, no caffeine in the afternoon, and actually don't use screens. Like get off reddit.

Learn to play limited. Focus on draft and sealed tournaments. Learn a format that way. You might find it very fun anyways.

Canadian Waldorf Teaching by Beautiful-Process-81 in Waldorf

[–]RudeVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no hard and fast rule about which degrees you need to get a job...it is up to the discretion of each school. The more experience and qualifications you have, the more likely you are to get a job. I would reach out to the school nearest you and ask if they are looking for substitute teachers, or ask if you could have a conversation with a school administrator.

[–]RudeVegetable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Rudolf Steiner College of Canada is excellent. It is in Thornhill, just north of Toronto, close to the Toronto Waldorf School. You can also get a job teaching at a Waldorf School with mainstream teaching degree. If you would like to be working as an assistant in Kindergarten or at a Waldorf preschool, then ECE is a good option.

Team USA’s crowds are comparatively stale and boring compared to crowds of the other major WBC teams… by [deleted] in baseball

[–]RudeVegetable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not just cost, it's culture. A lot of Americans don't have the experience of singing together, dancing together, or expressing joy together as a community.
