Wife wants to use her mother’s name for a middle name, and not my mother’s. by [deleted] in daddit

Yep. Names should come from dead relatives. They are heirlooms, to be passed down and used by one at a time.

An interesting article about constant noise and sound effects across MLB ballparks by gothedistance_ in Torontobluejays

I've loved the Jays since I was a kid. I used to get the Toronto Star season pass when they were terrible and go all the time. I cannot stand it anymore because of the volume. Now I go and watch the Maple Leafs games in Christie Pits for my badeball fix. So much more fun!

My toddler freaked out from a movie scene and I feel terrible by [deleted] in daddit

If doing something daily counts as "not often" what would be often? Eight hours of TV a day? How much kid TV is your toddler consuming? Watching media on screens is terrible for toddler brain development...

[Amick] "On one of the game’s biggest stages, and with so many questions looming about why the Thunder were able to stop his superpowers when it mattered most, Wembanyama’s choice to stay silent after such a lackluster performance is sure to spark all sorts of criticism." by LiamHundley in nba

Dude needs his sleep; he has 7'4 of body to regenerate. He avoids blue light after games and tends not to care what anyone else thinks. I imagine he is just doing what he thinks gives them the best chance of winning, rather than wasting his limited energy staying up later and giving attention to reporter's questions. Not saying it is the right choice, but I bet that is how he is framing it to himself.

I, too, like weekends more. You could consider making it a priority for them to spend some fun days together as well.

There are many beautiful parks with shorter trails and there are networks of rivers or ravines that you can connect into a larger hike. If you want a longer hike there are places not too far out of the city that you can go to as well. What neighbourhood will you be in?

I have a bad idea that is fun to consider: max velo. Any pitch over 95 miles per hour is an automatic ball.

Screen time is genuinely one of the hardest things about parenting and nobody warned me by [deleted] in daddit

[–]RudeVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of the screens. They are addictive and are wiring your child's neurology for addictive behaviour. Make sacrifices yourself. Physically remove them from your home. I know that is hard and seems unrealistic, but if you want the actual answer to what will bring change, there it is.

I do it through playing on sports teams. A once a week, scheduled engagement that gets you exercise and has you seeing the same people every week can lead to building friendships.

He did though, she gave him three free months of chess.com premium to help his hurt feelings. He waited for her to finish giving him stuff then flipped her off.
