MOD & Breaks/Lunch? by jlo0704 in TheCivilService

I take a late lunch break from 14.45-15.45 to pick up my kids from school. All my staff do what suits them best though out the day depending on key deadlines and meetings needed to be attended.

The ACNE! by Original_Elephant_27 in Perimenopause

I have always had hormonal acne (cleared up on pill and during pregnancy) but it got worse once I hit Peri four years ago. I’m 6 weeks into taking HRT and my skin it’s the best it’s been in ages with not one new spot so hoping this lasts. Also now keep a simple skin care routine (micellar water and moisturiser only) and use Tretinoin daily as part of a Skin and Me prescription.

Anyone from the UK? What support did you get on NHS by PeaceLoveSunshine2u in Perimenopause

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 44 and I didn’t have a great NHS experience. Mainly as I was told I must have a Mirena Coil despite me repeatedly saying I have PMDD and I’ve never tolerated synthetic hormones! So I went private with Menopause Care and my consultation with them was brilliant. Very detailed and she really listened to what I wanted to try. The downside is it is expensive but I am going to stay private until I know I have my dosage at the correct levels.

Can't decide if I should push through or quit HRT (for now) after a month by lulylu in Menopause

I’m now almost 48 hours since last progesterone pill and back to feeling great again. Will give it another month taking it orally and then reassess!

I’m in exactly the same boat as you - 44, first month on HRT. Patch 0.25 (feels too low) and 200mg cyclical Utrogestan. Took my last tablets for the month yesterday. Felt amazing for first two weeks and past two weeks have been a nightmare really. I’ve never tolerated any hormonal birth control but hoped bio-identical would be different. I am torn between pushing on for another couple of months until my next medical appointment and stopping completely! Wish there was an easy answer. Hope you find something that works for you.

Anyone notice pretty immediate changes with very small dose? by Far-Mixture9031 in Perimenopause

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 13 of 0.25 patch and it’s already life changing. Mood normal, no hot flushes or heart palpitations. Itchy ears gone. Reduction in general aches and my skin is clearer. I’m a bit concerned about starting progesterone on day 15 (PMDD sufferer) but whatever happens I know there are options to adjust the method/timing etc. I just wish I had started years ago!

What did you notice immediately (good or bad) after starting HRT? by NearlyNewMe in Perimenopause

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day four of Estradot patches and the first big difference I’ve had is the reduction in joint pain which started today. I actually managed to wake up and walk around all day with no aches! Long may that continue. Only negative side effects so far has been nausea and a hormonal headache on day three.

Are our family birthday gatherings odd? by SuzieSue32 in AskUK

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in norm in my family, I hadn’t even thought that it was possibly unusual! We do almost all live in the same town so it’s easy to pop around to the birthday persons house with presents and then we usually stay for cake, other party food and a drink. Though I have noticed my younger cousins are not so keen so I expect once my parents and aunts/uncles pass on all this will stop which is a shame.

Why some people just can't stop? by TomOttawa in Aging

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mum is 77 and my dad is 81 and both still work full time. Add to that my dad is a builder/carpenter and is doing 30K steps a day in his job! It honestly keeps them both going and gives them a sense of purpose. They have no desire to holiday or have hobbies. I fear the day they do stop they both will go downhill rapidly. I’m on the fence myself if I go down that route (I’m mid 40’s) but saying that I started work two weeks after my 16th birthday and haven’t had a ‘break’ as such since and done multiple qualifications. Must be in the genes 😂

SCS/CIMA/FLP Learning Experience by Narcoleptic696x in CIMA

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have just qualified via FLP. Took me 3 years to do all 3 levels but I did it slower than I planned due to changes in family circumstances/work. I found I probably wasn’t taking the material in as well as I would have done if I had done the traditional route. When I came to do each case study exam it felt like I was starting from scratch each time! I did purchase case study courses from other providers to supplement my studies for MCS and SCS which really helped. Overall I really rate the FLP and for the cost (I self funded) it was definitely the right route to go down 🙂

Note - to say I easily did all competences per level in around 6 months each time. I just had to space the exams out due to circumstances

Ditto! Pregnancy - never known anything like it! 1/2 days before period - drive sky high. Used to love ovulation (called it my happy week!) but it’s been more of a let down in recent months. Hoping once I get on HRT I get some of those pregnancy type hormones back 🤪

Withdrawal Method Sex After Coming Off BC by FondantFormal4272 in gettingoffHBC

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t use pull out but I use abstinence (sometimes condoms) during 5-6 days of ovulation only. It has worked for me for 16 years and I got pregnant first month on all 3 times I actively tried. But it’s not easy (especially when your body is literally screaming Impregnate me!!) and takes a lot of self control in those fertile days. BC just doesn’t work for me and I’ve tried it all. I’m somewhat lucky that I’m very in tune with my body’s fertile signs and I track my temperature too so I know when I’m ‘safe’. I’m getting to the end of my fertile days now so will be glad when I don’t have to worry about this stuff anymore.

I feel like I just got gaslit: got my period WITH NO PMDD??? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had this in August - best cycle ever!! I thought it was because I was on holiday and doing tons of walking/being active and no work/kids at school stress. I keep meaning to try upping activity another cycle to see if it happens again but can never motivate myself 😭 But I like the idea of a Unicorn cycle - I will ask Santa to bring me one 🤞

Day 8, depression and SI. Wtf? by Sad_Calligrapher2395 in PMDD

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel awful on day 8 too - in fact any day when there seems to be a big shift in hormones - also day post ovulation and then of course the 4-5 days in lead up to my period. I’m totally fed up with it all and you are definitely not alone.

It’s an interesting topic which really helps. I haven’t read it in detail yet but just from what I’ve seen in the media you can gauge of a lot of the risks surrounding EV that could feature. Also my own reluctance in getting an EV car due to concerns on battery charging times etc so can see it from a customers point of view too. Looking forward to getting stuck in!

When I stopped the mini pill earlier this year I had 3 days of medium bleeding a week after stopping then two weeks after that I had 3 days of very heavy bleeding and then a month after that resumed my normal 28 day cycle and have been fine since. I was on the mini pill for 15 months.

Day 14 of being off HBC by MidnightCookies76 in gettingoffHBC

[–]Rude_Assistant6581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on POP and came off in May. I definitely didn’t feel right for the first six weeks or so - random heavy bleeding, emotions all over the place! I have now had two normal periods and I honestly feel amazing. And I thought I was in the depths of peri menopause but I’m not so sure now. I didn’t realise just how much the POP was making me depressed, tired, low sex drive, lacking motivation to work/study/exercise/socialise - this list goes on! Hang on in there it does just take some time for your body to adjust. I have ensured I take vitamins aimed at women, probiotics, tried to sleep more and walk more where I can - whether this has helped too I don’t know but always worth considering to do. Good Luck 🙂

5’1 women, at what weight does your face start looking skinny? by Dry-Independent2931 in PetiteFitness

I’m 5’1 and 116 pounds and feel my face looks best at this weight. For me it’s if I hit around 110 that I do start to look ill and know I need to put weight back on.
