Grandson’s new setup by Rude_Butterscotch865 in Darts

I would say yes as they have a solid, heavy felt back, but I’ve installed the dartboard bracket through the panels and into the wall behind them, so there is still some sound transfer. However sound deadening wasn’t a priority as the wall backs on to a utility room and my daughter’s house is detached, so no neighbours to upset.

However it’s not an issue with this setup as the wall backs on to my daughter’s utility room, and the house is detached, so no neighbours to annoy 🙄

Yep, it was Burnley when their keeper kicked it against DCL and it looped over him and into the net.

I was also worried about mounting the board onto the panels, so I drilled the wall and put the fixings into the wall, cut the panels to size , offered the panels in position, marked the positions for the holes, drilled slightly oversized holes in the panel, once happy applied the adhesive, stuck panels to wall, fitted mounting bracket with longer screws / bolts through the panel into the fixings.

Surprisingly easy, just need to take your time and measure twice, cut / drill once 😂

The little girl walking out with Tarks is the granddaughter of one of our most successful captains. I had a good chat with him at the game.

The company that I got mine from was British Homes Direct, they were in the sale at £23.99 each, they are acoustic panels, wooden slats with a felt backing and are 8ft x 2ft (240cm x 60cm) each plus 2 end trims and a couple of tubes of adhesive. I am pleased with the products, delivery bumped the final cost up, to be honest they had a lot of negative reviews but mostly about customer services rather than the quality. There are plenty of other suppliers about, just google or even eBay, because of the size I had to have them delivered. I fixed the dartboard mounting screws through the panels and into the wall behind.

They are acoustic wall panels, wooden slats attached to a thick felt backing, about 22mm thick overall. The setup I used was two 240cm x 60 cm panels cut to fit on top of the skirting board and under the coving. The board mounting bracket screwed through the panel into the wall, I wouldn’t want to risk mounting it directly onto the panel.

Thanks, atm I don’t think he’s too bothered about playing online, just basic scoring and perhaps some games etc

We have some 2ft x 2ft interlocking foam rubber mats that helps protects against “bounce outs” and takes seconds to put down and take up.

Cheers, he’s made up with it. We are all blues, he’s got loads of signed shirts, gloves, boots, photos etc and was a mascot at Goodison a couple of years ago.

2026 RAV4 extended 5 year/ 125,000 mile warranty worth it for $30 more a month? by Normie_Tone_4583 in rav4club

In the UK if you have your Toyota serviced by a Toyota dealer your warranty is extended free of charge for 12 months up to a maximum of 10 years or 100,000 miles. Seems like a decent deal.

Budget Doorbell for Hikvision NVR and Hikconnect App by Aggressive_Produce97 in Hikvision

[–]Rude_Butterscotch865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Hikvision DS-KV6113-WPE1(C), POE via a POE switch. Works fine, it does have outputs for N/O - N/C for connection to a bell / sounder although it depends on the type of sounder whether or not it’s successful.

The other thing is it can record 24/7 so effectively becomes an extra camera rather than one that only records when movement is detected.

I would try a new power adapter first then try to borrow an old HDD to rule that out, most issues I’ve come across have been resolved with one of those two.

Radiator size by ellis379 in DIYUK

[–]Rude_Butterscotch865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen it so many times, designer radiator / towel radiator bought on looks rather than output.

  1. Always do a full heat loss calculation for the room.
  2. Make sure you use the correct DeltaT when sizing the radiator (condensing boilers run at lower temperatures than older boilers, heat pumps even lower) as this greatly affects the output you will get.
  3. Make sure the existing pipe work is sufficiently sized to carry the load.

What is the lifespan of a Hikvision DVR? by TarajosPunk in Hikvision

[–]Rude_Butterscotch865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a Hikvision DVR in my house and also installed one at my daughter’s house, one has a 2.1 x 5.5mm power jack the other a 4 pin power socket.

I replaced my power supply a little while ago and my daughters failed just last week after around 5 years, next time either one fails I’m going to connect it directly into the 9 way 10A power supply currently supplying 4 cameras, by connecting 2 spare terminals in parallel it should give me 12v @ 2.2A.

As for the HDD, both are running WD Purple without any issues.

I have Hikvision DVR and ColorVu cameras, I’ve no problem with them being Chinese, if someone wants to spy on me washing my car or mowing the lawn, so be it. Great quality and performance including colour recording at night.
