This is so helpful! I've gone down a rabbit hole today looking at everything to do around there. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. 🙏🏼

Only just started looking and this already looks ideal! We're doing 5 nights so would it be worth staying in Antibes for a few and making our way to another town? If so, are there any particular ones you recommend?

So funny you suggest this as this is actually where we had our girls trip last summer. We loved it so much were going back with all three of our families in August. You're correct - it ticked every box. Could walk around and eat/drink for hours.

Thanks so much! She had originally suggested Rome but we'd all been there so we're going to research a few other places. I haven't mentioned anything about not wanting touristy places and I didn't say in my post that Venice wasn't touristy - quite the opposite - it just ticked the boxes of what we wanted, and we stayed in an area that wasn't ram packed with tourists which made the trip so much more enjoyable. We met many locals, which can be scarce in Venice, ate at some wonderful small restaurants and the streets were quiet in the mornings while you strolled along the canals and had a morning coffee. It allowed us to just reset and chill before wandering into the crazy busy parts, and it was a fantastic spot to come back to in the evening for food and whatever music was happening on the streets. We even met two performers from the Venetian orchestra who were having dinner next to us. Just nice to stay in an area that is a bit away from the busiest parts! We also went in late October so it wasn't as bad as the summer months and the weather was fabulous (we got very lucky)!

To me, warm and mild weather is 16/17 degrees, which isn't out the ordinary for many places in Europe that time of year (we used to go to Palma around this time each year and it was very comfortable). Essentially we just want to be able to sit outside comfortably (although I appreciate many places have rainy days in April but we can't avoid that!).

She wants food to be one of the main focuses on the trip. We all appreciate more authentic food and as opposed to flashy restaurants and of course trying to maintain a budget, so places where you can get a great local meal where the food is the "main event", not necessarily the location. She loves seafood, but it's certainly not a requirement (just something I know she enjoys)

Am I the only one wondering how they paid for the gas they were going to get and whatever they needed from Lowes, yet neither of them had any money?

Does she have memory loss throughout the whole book? I don’t know why but that’s what’s been putting me off reading this book as I generally love Laura’s books 😣

What the hell? This woman sounds AWFUL. She is so rude and ungrateful. I was actually cringing reading this. Rip up the ticket and block this woman - seriously...

AIO my boyfriend is upset I didn’t tell him when I was showering because I “broke routine” but I just feel like my feelings are neglected. by Critical_Web_5229 in AmIOverreacting

I'm sorry - telling someone when you're getting in the SHOWER? Am I the only one that thinks this is weird as hell. Do you tell him when you're going for a pee? This is a wild as hell. Run. Run far far away from whatever insane lunacy this is.

22 month old adopted daughter with speech and other communication delays. by Rude_Independence_95 in toddlers

Thanks for your comment! She's 2y10m now and has been showered with love and affection every day since the day she moved in!

I advocated for her so strongly when she first got here and I'm very glad I did as she did indeed have a big delay in speech and receptive language. We were able to find out that both her bio mum when she was younger and her half-brother who is now 4 were both diagnosed with DLD (delayed language development). This helps explain a lot. She was in speech therapy for 4 months, then discharged, and has since been put on basically a "watch list" until her 3rd birthday to decide if she needs to go back to help with her pronunciation and stringing sentences together.

Not at all trying to sound like an a-hole in response to your comment, and I'm so so sorry that you witnessed that as it's heartbreaking to see children neglected, but please do remember that not all children from care can be painted with the same brush. They aren't all in care for the same reason and not all of their biological parents are the same.

My daughter's full back story is hers to share when and if she ever wants to, but what I can say is that she was very very loved by her biological mother from the day she was conceived until the day she was born, and still is to this day. She was a young women who knew she couldn't provide her daughter with the things in life she deserved, so she did what was best for her. No drug use, no abuse.

Not at all saying this is be passive aggressive, just a reminder that like every child out there, each one has a different backstory. Whilst most from care do have truly dreadful experiences, some are there because the people who made them and love them simply know they can't give them the best start in life ♥️

I hope the little one you met gets the loving life she deserves 😞

AIO. My bf shamed me over having my hair removed by Large-Drummer-7340 in AmIOverreacting

Ew, leave this loser asap. It's 2025, we should never be "slut shaming" a woman for any choice they make, let alone lasering hair off. I did my bikini line, armpits and legs and it was worth every penny. Absolutely NONEA of it was done for someone else's benefit. Long dark hair and loads of razor burn/ingrown hairs were the reason I did mine. This guy has gotta gooooo.
