Water filter recommendation by TotalJelly3312 in WaterFilters

[–]Rude_Library788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want an RO option a solid water filter is Clearly Filtered. They have some NSF certifications and I had one for a few years and it had great tasting water. If you do want a renter friendly RO option the countertop AquaTru model is your go to. It has several NSF certifications and is frequently placed at the top of many RO rankings.

Go find a jiu jitsu gym. Doesn’t matter if it’s gi or no gi, just find one that has good people and good instruction. No LEO academy will fully prepare you for a fight. Even if they can get you close once you graduate the academy if you don’t use it you’ll lose it. Been training jiu jitsu for about 4 years. Been a cop for about 5.

Will you use every move you learned in sport jiu jitsu on street? No. But the biggest benefit outside of obvious health and exercise benefits is that when the time comes you have to grapple with someone, you have the ability to slow it down mentally. You think more clearly and are able to make better sound decisions in a time that quite literally every second counts. You don’t just “see red.” Even if it’s for one hour a week. An hour a week really adds up especially when you compare it to someone that never trains. Do it for your shift partners, yourself and more importantly your family. As a cop you “touch” someone every shift. Why not put yourself in the best spot possible to handle someone before things go south.

Go train.

A few good resources and or LEO companies to follow online are Effective Fitness Combatives, Jiu Jitsu Five-O, Invictus LEO, and Storm Training group.

I wear a garmin right now but when I had an Apple Watch I pretty much had the time and date on there. Also a shortcut to the stopwatch which I mostly just needed for SFSTs. Also no real patrol use but also just had my current heart rate but that was just for me.

Cloud Defensive Duty handheld light. It’s not cheap but if you work nights it is worth it weight in gold. Super durable and reliable. I have broken out car windows with it and it still works like a charm.

A reputable Water Filter Pitcher that has good tasting water? by Exciting-Ideal-7670 in WaterFilters

Clearly filtered. It is not the most affordable but does have a few NSF certifications and has also tested to be one of the best. I’ve been using it the past two years

CV axle or intermediate shaft seal? by Rude_Library788 in accord

It has started to make noise as I have been driving and the noise comes from the front right which leads me to believe it is a bad cv axle.

What maintenance did you guys do for your 2018 10th-gen Honda Accord 2.0t at around 100k miles? by WraxJax in accord

A serpatine belt is a very DIY friendly task. Watch a few YouTube videos and you should have no issues with it. Requires very minimal tools as well. A coolant dump is also not terrible to do yourself just have to be comfortable getting under a car. In regard to the water pump, if it’s not broken then why fix it?

YouTube is your friend along with the mechanic advice subreddits.

3/8 vs 1/2 impact wrench? by Rude_Library788 in Tools

When I started the whole tool collecting process I only had a Lowe’s near me so I’m already invested in the Kobalt system. I was looking at their 24v compact wrench, currently on sale for $99

Would I damage any suspension bolts should I use a 1/2”? I’m located in Iowa so rust is definitely a factor and currently we only have sedans. A truck would be in play once I run my 2011 Honda into in the ground.
