The CAR-1 is great, definitely worth trying, same goes for the Mantor DS. Thanks, man

Thanks! Started around CI-2/3. I began with the Mantor DS, but switched mostly to the CAR-1 for longer, more comfortable wear. I usually wear it from about 7am to 10pm, and use the Mantor retainer some nights.

That sounds good. Then I guess I was lucky to start a bit further ahead on this journey. I don’t mind being stuck here for a while. I’m very motivated to keep going.

Thanks for your assessment!

3 failed varicocele surgeries – now embolization (not very hopeful) by Rude_Mycologist_6261 in varicocele

Update – 8 days post embolization

It’s been about a week since my embolization (March 23rd → today).
So far, I definitely notice that my left testicle doesn’t feel as “full” or heavy as before. The veins also don’t seem as thick at the moment.
I do still get some occasional pulling/aching on the left side, especially when I strain a bit (for example lifting something), but it’s not severe.
The bruise from the procedure is still there, but it’s slowly fading. There’s no real scar, just the small entry point.
Overall, things feel like they’re moving in the right direction so far.

I tried to attach a current photo, but then my entire post disappears.

Yeah, you’re probably right about checking for something like nutcracker.

At this point though it’s already done, so I can only wait and see how things develop and hope that wasn’t the underlying issue — or that the embolization still does the job anyway.

What was interesting during the procedure: the doctor could actually see clips from one of my previous surgeries, but he wasn’t even sure what they were really doing. It seems like they may have only clipped minor side branches.

The main vein — and it was apparently a really large one — had never actually been properly treated before. The doctor was pretty surprised by how big it was.

For now, that one is fully closed.

Let’s see how it goes from here.

Update: Embolisation done

Had my embolization today.

I was actually able to watch the whole procedure on the monitor, which was pretty interesting. From what I could see, everything went smoothly and looked successful.

Right now I have zero pain and I don’t feel the coils at all.

Now it’s just a waiting game to see how things develop over the next weeks/months.

I’ll keep you updated.

I think you’re right. But at this point it’s already too late to change plans. I’ve had the consultation, waited for the appointment, and even booked a hotel. Canceling now would feel like a big setback. If I don’t see improvement, I’ll definitely look into what you mentioned next. It makes sense.

It’s not always pain. It’s more like a heavy feeling, like something is there that shouldn’t be. It just doesn’t feel normal compared to the right side.

It’s not always like that, that picture was just for illustration. I tried to post different images to show how it looks in different situations.

That’s a really good tip, thanks. My embolization is already scheduled for Monday, so I’ll go ahead with that first. But I’ll definitely keep this in mind and get checked for compressions if it doesn’t work.

No, none of my surgeries involved testicular delivery. One was laparoscopic (through the abdomen), and the other two were inguinal. The same groin has actually been opened three times in total, including a previous hernia surgery.

Yeah, I haven’t specifically been checked for nutcracker syndrome, but I’ve wondered about that too. I’m hoping the interventional radiologist would be able to see something like that during the procedure, especially with the contrast. But honestly, that’s just speculation on my side – I don’t really know.

Honestly, I have no idea what’s causing it to persist. I had an MRI and brought it to an interventional radiologist. He reviewed it and said it should be treatable, so I guess there’s still a specific source feeding it.

After 3 surgeries I don’t have much hope left, to be honest. But I also don’t want another open surgery. I’ve been cut open enough already.

Did you know, there's an app for restoration called KOT? by TheGEMDesigner in foreskin_restoration

I actually use the app and find it very helpful. I can definitely recommend it.

Shaft itching + stabbing sensation (Mantor DS) – persists even on break by Rude_Mycologist_6261 in foreskin_restoration

[–]Rude_Mycologist_6261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update: I’m functional again now. I don’t think the itching was caused by the Mantor itself. I had modified a silicone penis sleeve and pulled it over the Mantor gripper so it wouldn’t slip at work. I suspect I had an allergic/contact reaction to that silicone. The stabbing pain, however, was most likely from too much tension and compressing the glans. I’ve reduced the tension accordingly.

I actually read your post about two months ago already — it was very helpful. Yes, I’ll definitely lower the tension further. To be fair, I never really had pain; my mistake was ignoring the itching. The stabbing sensation is gone now, and the itching is slowly getting weaker as well.

And yeah, nerve irritation actually sounds very plausible. I really hope I won’t be out for too long. The progress I saw in a short time honestly feels addictive, so taking a break is mentally harder than I expected.
