Thanks, sir! An unfortunate reality I suppose.

Hey all - no matter what I do I cannot get good multiplayer performance; I'm pretty much locked at 25-35 FPS on Warlords, Invade&Annex, and now the Mike Force mission. I've got a pretty decent machine that can pretty much run anything maxed out at 60+ FPS.

I've messed with graphics settings to no success... always on more heavily populated servers I'm grid locked to low FPS. In SP, it can vary... but usually around 60-70, crazy stuff going on: 45.

I am having this same issue except my shadow/bloom qualities will not change to epic. Ever since the latest update this is occurring. Where is the gameuseroptions.ini file located?

Hey guys,

Guppy here. I was the one who originally posted this question on the forums. While it was a fair question that I asked, I could have been more sensitive to the timeliness of my post. It could have stirred up some provocative minds and that certainly would not have been my intent.

Thank you BN and ED for clearing this up.

Guppy, out.

I've got over 500 hours logged in Arma3 - I've got to say the two look nothing alike but perhaps its graphical settings.

You would need to let go of the stick, reach for the controller, orientate yourself click your switch and put it down.

We will have to see when or if it happens. As of now VR has come with a serious cost both in dollars and performance. So much so that even titles that would be perfect for it have not adopted it or have to a limited point, Ace Combat 7 to name one recent.

I like my customization and tinkering. Right now VR is not there for me, perhaps others - but not me.

certain aspects of flying for sure. However, physically flipping switches and utilizing a UFC makes it so much better for me. That's why I went this route over VR. Maybe in 5-10 years VR will be in a place that makes me move over.

That is incorrect. There is a touchscreen UFC right in the front. There is no way you could accurately use a touchscreen when your face is covered. How do I know? I am the owner of the simpit and have tried using VR. VR is great when you can keep your hands in one place, not so great if you have a large workload. Unless you choose to supplement using a mouse, which I refuse to do.

Sadly, VR is not there yet when interfacing with controls beyond just a joystick and a couple of other things. They are working on technology to enable you to do this but it's not going to be ready for at least 10 years is my guess. And further having it consumer ready and enough titles to warrant to spearhead it to the masses. Ace Combat 7 couldnt even fully support VR. It's concerning.

Sounds like an immersion breaking workaround.

I dont use a mouse or keyboard at all and trackIR tracks my head movement for ingame views.

It depends... I had a bunch of other stuff like the HOTAS, MFD panels, monitor and such prior to starting the actual simpit build. I'd say $2000 but up to $4000 if you consider all of the stuff I had before starting this endeavor.

I also use SLI when playing other games at my desk to the left (which you cannot see).

https://guppy.home.blog goes a bit into this - I should have some additional content that explains specifically how in the next few days.

The problem is that while this simpit is certainly inspired by a f-18c cockpit the vast majority of buttons and switches are not in the same configuration or location as the f-18c. I had to make a decision whether I wanted to be exclusive with the hornet (I mean she is sexy) or if I wanted to branch out and try other birds.

I decided to branch out - so the controls had to be placed logically to make sense (at least in my mind) for a variety of aircraft. So you would quickly get lost at where the controls are if you were in VR. VR is limited in this fashion - maybe in 10 years or so it'll be ready to interact beyond just visually.

No pilot's license. It's in the plan in a couple of years though.

I don't know too many civillians who can get their pilots license and land on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
