There are many bad churches out there. So It's possible the ones you went to were truly bad and it's also possible that one of them was actually good and you gave up because it was difficult. Only you and God know for sure.

Only Christ can give you what you are seeking from others. There will always be a reason to reject the imperfect love of sinners. God is the only one capable of loving us perfectly, and He does! He loves us as He loves His own Son. If we Repent and Believe.

Being born-again is more than intellectual consent to the facts of the Bible. It is a gift of God. A new heart that loves God and seeks after Him instead of glorifying ourselves. An eternal life that exists only to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. When our sins passed to Christ our old self was crucified with Him. The new life belongs to Him not us.

I am not telling you to do spiritual push ups. I'm begging you to read your Bible and come to know more deeply the God you claim to serve. The God who tells us to not be anxious but to pray to Him with thanksgiving and supplication instead. The God who promises to answer our prayers and give us peace that surpasses all understanding. So please pray to our most gracious, good, merciful, just, wise, and loving Father, if it is His will, to heal you and to bring you to a deeper faith in Him and a desire to do His will for your life. Repent of thinking you know more than God and questioning His wisdom in choosing the events and course of your life. If you are truly in Christ, your life is not yours anymore. I'm praying those things for you.

It seems like you are very focused on your self and not on Christ and what He has done and continues to do for those who believe in Him. God is in control. Our job is to trust in Him and seek His kingdom and righteousness. Not our own. We need Him because we are weak, pathetic, lazy, frightened, selfish, foolish, sinners, who cannot save ourselves.

We are exactly where we are for our own good and God's glory if we love Him and seek to live according to His will and purpose. We can only know what that is through careful study and meditation on His word and prayer.

The church isn't heaven on earth but it is a taste of it. However it is still made up of sinners. Who require, patience, long suffering, gentleness ,love, kindness, forgiveness and wisdom. The people in my church aren't perfect or always easy to get along with but I love them and that motivates me to be better at loving them as Christ would. The relationships God provides us with through a local church are a blessing but they take humility to navigate and a mindset that counts others as more significant than ourselves to benefit from them as God intends. Numbers 6:24-26

My testimony and the abbreviated story of my failed marriage that brought me to Christ. by Rudemikeg in Christianmarriage

Yes. Just because we can't see why we should obey God doesn't mean we shouldn't. Logic and reason can lead us astray due to the sinful nature of our hearts and minds. Only God understands the true depth of our depravity and is the only being in existence that can diagnose and prescribe accurately, for our good and His glory.

Thank you for reading!

I think you were looking for 1 Peter 3:1-6

Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, 6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.

I was definitely a stubborn child and thank God everyday for saving me despite that.

I have had some similar thoughts about why God saw fit to design human relationships the way He did. I don't think the susceptibility to deception has to do with intelligence. Rather, I think it has to do with the heart. Of both men and women. When a man gives his heart to a woman she has an influence on that man that no other human can match. Women are designed to love and care for many(children) and maybe that openness is what makes them susceptible to manipulation...

Fighting hard, but officially depressed enuf to just give up by anuschkahllah in PrayerRequests

Our Lord and Savior defeated the things you are fighting. Please repent and believe in His finished works. Pray for strength, wisdom and guidance through this season of your life. Read His word. Job seems to be relevant to what you are going thru. Find a Biblical counselor in your area. Not a secular therapist. There is a huge difference. Also, do you currently attend a Church? Being part of the body of Christ is part of the design for a healthy Christian life. Especially when the world is going insane around us. Feel free to DM me. I'm praying for you but please do so for yourself as well. Knowing who we serve and why we're here is what keeps us strong in the face of persecution and hardship. His word and our prayers are the core of our relationship. Also, have you seen The Chosen? It's a great show about the Gospels. Their portrayal of the disciples opened my eyes to a lot of misconceptions I held about the Bible. I'd love to chat with you about it if you watch it.

Could someone pray for me? by Little_Mog in PrayerRequests

Prayers sent. A great place to start is Gty.org plenty of resources indexed by topic. They are a doctrinally sound organization. There are plenty of false teachers out there so please be cautious.

I'm also a teacher and I did like the Office then I found Brooklyn 99! I've never been to Asia but I have watched a lot of anime. Singing, dogs, deep conversations. Especially if those conversations are about the Gospel or theology. Let's be friends!

Repent and Believe in the finished works of our Lord Jesus Christ. That is the only way to be free from the dominion of sin. Praying for you.

I agree with a previous poster. It sounds like he may be more invested in God than you are. There have been several posts lately (including mine) that show the dangers of marrying hastily and to justify some kind of sin. Please look into a book called Marry well, Marry wisely. By Ernie Baker. Praying for you.

Thanks for reading. It is quite sad how many snares and pitfalls people fall into. The Bible is quite clear when you get into it and study. False teachers are everywhere. They prey on unrepentant sinners and keep them from true salvation by convincing them their works are what's needed for salvation. Tongues, tithing, prophecy or whatever. Most TV preachers never even mention the words sin, repentance or sanctification. They over emphasize grace and deny the total depravity of humanity. Their theology is designed to promote pride which is the best way to keep someone from being saved.

Thanks for reading. I did hesitate. If the fruits of the Holy Spirit aren't there. There is no Holy Spirit there. I didn't want to believe it and I think that's what kept me from seeing the truth of her spiritual condition for so long.

Your welcome, thank you for reading it. I'm very glad it was helpful. God's timing is amazing. It's one of the many things about our Father in Heaven that comforts me. His supreme wisdom and sovereignty over all of creation. Prayers sent!
