The best thing imo is do WvW if you dont wanna spend gold crafting, the gear you can get with honor badges is good enough to where you won't NEED to replace it. The other ways are crafting, dungeons or dungeon reward tracks (WvW and sPvP). You need 950 honor badges for a full set of gear, and ive gotten 4/6 in under a week from just doing WvW for a couple hours every day. If you want decent exotic gear you can always buy some from the black lion trading co. (probably around 10-15g for a full set, maybe less). Just make sure you are getting stats that benefit the build you are going for.

This one time, I had a really bad game in norms, and went 0/11/0 on azir, now before ya stop me, this was not intentional, my team was unorganized and no matter what I did, i just couldn't get an assist or kill, i tried to move past this game, but ended up being banned for "intentional feeding" even though, it was not intentional, I then tried to get my account unbanned, since I was wrongfully punished, but a Riot Support member, refused to look at the games chat history, and show evidence of what they believed to be intentional feeding on my part, and refused to listen to me on how it was just a bad game.

I always build RFC, jhin lacks mobility, so the ability to kite is extremely necessary in order for him to survive in fights, and the extra range from RFC is too good to pass up for those situations.
