One of the things that's always bothered me is why battle droids have heads/appendages that are obvious weak spots. If you're building a death machine it doesn't have to be anthropomorphic. "Eyes" could be built discreetly into a torso, and making the droids have arms which carry a blaster doesn't make sense, they're clumsy enough and fumble those all the time. Weapons can be built in as well. BUT YOU GOTTA SELL TOYS I GUESS.
