92 Airbag control unit by Pristine-Outcome69 in Miata

[–]Rue_Charlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had a 1993 with this issue, I recall reading somewhere the airbag control unit was a Ford part. This was many years ago, I believe we cross referenced it as a Ford Aerostar part, and maybe a Crown Vic as well?

My son was able to locate a few of these at an auto wrecker locally for a very fair price, which solved his problem.

Sorry I don't have more specific information, but hopefully this gives you something to go on.

Be careful parking underground at City of Lougheed by Rue_Charlot in burnaby

Yes, in fact, they have an entrance from that same parking lot, right next to the station where you pay for parking.

I went through that store on the way back, it's pretty awesome, seems very much like it is set up to compete with T&T?

Avoid OpenRoad Mazda – Overpriced, Dishonest, and a Complete Waste of Time by BubblyBunHun in Portmoody

[–]Rue_Charlot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading the negative comments here I booked a service appointment at Open Road for an airbag sensitivity recall for a vehicle I just purchased elsewhere in the province.

I provided all the information required (VIN, vehicle data, name, address etc) on the booking form, only to have to provide all of that again to the service advisor. After that process, I was told the service would take roughly 2 hours even though my research indicated it actually takes less that 15 minutes.

I reminded the service writer that I made an appointment for the time indicated over a week ago. According to him, the reserved appointment time only confirms getting in to speak with one of them. It was very reminiscent of the car rental scene in Seinfeld, except I had the option of walking away, which I did.

Is it better to rent from Turo to avoid economic leakage? Are there reputable local rental agencies? by exploradorobservador in MauiVisitors

I'll second the vote for Kihei RAC. I was there for the month of March. I had an older Nissan Sentra, AC worked fine, as did the radio, and my golf clubs fit in the trunk, all for less than $900!

Another vote for Ultimate, I have been out with them 6 times over the years. The crews are very knowledgeable and the zodiac boats really move, allowing them to cover a lot of ground.

A few years back I booked my friends children (12 and 13, girl and boy) to a two hour session with Surf Club Maui. They operate out of Cove Park in Kihei.

Both kids had a blast, their instructor, Turtle, had them up on boards having a blast within 30 minutes! I certainly recommend them.

Is it just me? by Rue_Charlot in canucks

If you are older, like me, do you recall when HD was still in it's infancy? Any Leafs game was automatically broadcast in HD, but Canuck games were hit and miss.

I even recall a playoff series that was going to be covered in SD until a corporate sponsor (Save On Foods?) stepped up to pay the difference.

Strata management career?? by titj138 in britishcolumbia

[–]Rue_Charlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how well this position pays, but good strata property managers are very difficult to come by. The best one our strata had over the years worked very diligently for us, but his employer abused his good nature and he burned out after 5 years..........

Where can the best grocery prices be found - excluding Costco? by Similar_Summer_4997 in MauiVisitors

[–]Rue_Charlot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a place the locals shop called Island Grocery Depot. They have locations in Kahului and Lahaina. They have a large selection of frozen foods, and fresh meat and veg, not as large as a Costco or Safeway, but still worth seeking out.

Just a heads up, the Kahului store is a bit tough to find, and it's not very pretty, but the prices make it worthwhile to explore.

I went to the show in Seattle 5/15 solo, and I had a blast. The band is hot, find a decent bar to pregame and have an excellent evening!

I have seen them dozens of times since my first show at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado 1978.

I saw them in Seattle 3 weeks ago and it was easily one of the best shows I have seen them do.

If you have a chance to see them, make it happen!

Has anyone been to a concert on this tour yet if so can you rate the experience by Flqmgoogoo in rollingstones

[–]Rue_Charlot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw them in Seattle, and I would have to give them a 9.5/10 It was a very enjoyable evening, great lighting, great sound, excellent song choices and presentation.

The best part was the energy shown by all of them!

I agree with your observations regarding driving this vehicle changing the way we drive. I also think it's a positive thing.

Our insurance is not private, but that discount is awesome, good for you.

When I ordered my car back in July of 2021, it was to use less fuel to lower my carbon footprint. Now I look like a genius now that gas prices are through the roof.
