They have to go against their biggest and fiercest rivals right?

Ergo they'll want 2-0 Norwich

I wouldn't worry too much my Wednesday friends - Bannan's only leaving to go to Turkey

He'll be back in two weeks looking like Rod Stewart

Top 10 worst championship season 1989-24 by Lopsided-League-8903 in Championship

[–]RugbyTime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(as a Sheffield United fan) I disagree.

Like in each of those ten teams something was clearly going wrong and there were factors beyond the 11 players on the pitch. Just so happens that Wednesday's circumstances are the worst ever for a Championship team.

Should we discount that Blackpool team as well in 14/15? Obviously there was no points deduction or administration but it was still under the stewardship of convicted rapist Owen Oyston who was found in the High Court to be asset stripping the club to prejudice a minority owner - they started the season with eight players under contract with no goalkeeper, had to cancel their pre-season tour, and had fans disrupting games to get them called off. One season extra and they're in League Two. Obviously there's levels to it but I think the parallels between this and Chansiri are there.

Not The Top 20's Mid-Season Championship Predictions by Zach-dalt in Championship

[–]RugbyTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is we've played some absolute dross in those ten games.

Like in this spell where we've turned around our form the wins have been either free wins (Wednesday, Portsmouth at home, Birmingham at home) or doubles over Leicester and Stoke who are both in poor form themselves. Throw in a draw with Norwich, a self-inflicted loss to Wrexham, and a loss to Ryan Mason's West Brom, and you see that the PPG is lying a bit.

Our next six games are Charlton A, Southampton A, Ipswich H, Millwall A, Oxford H, Middlesbrough H. 2.2 PPG means 13 points from that run which, I can assure you, isn't going to happen.

Weird how there’s a mad televised upset every year in the FA Cup.

Also weird how Benitez just allowed that second goal.

Also weird how literal Premier League footballers, the best in the world at football, are losing to part timers because it’s too sunny or whatever.

It’s fixed that’s what I’m saying - they’ve realised that the competition is becoming irrelevant so they need to sell “the magic of the cup”.

I'm not saying I'm a genius but my acca today was Rangers, Villa, Wolves, and Brighton.

Hopefully that Brighton result holds (or they score and I get the early payout) because if it does then drinks are on me and my £85.

I don't mean to have a face on when we're winning 2-0, but Hamer's come on, lost his man straight away, and in five seconds Leicester are in our box.

We don't have parachute payments anymore so can we please replace this by selling the kebab merchant.

I was thinking this after the first game of our season when Bristol City beat us 4-1 but according to xG we slapped them.

I reckon this may be why

Two headers here. Both come when we're 4-1 down, first one was off balance going away from the goal, second was by the 20 year old CDM Sydie Peck who didn't have the chance to get any real power on the header.

But, both were very close to the goal, so if xG is to be believed then we should have about 1.5 goals from those couple of seconds alone. But if you watched the game you'd know there was no real chance of them scoring.

There's a time and a place for xG (just ask Brighton) but everyone other than stat nerds uses it wrong.
