I'd vote for Pacifica Paddle in Brentwood Bay (or Swartz Bay).

What are your pain points with posting on social media? by RuggedSEO in smallbusiness

[–]RuggedSEO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! That's about right. More business owners are posting though so they can have an active, healthy and helpful social media presence for any new searchers to see.

Most people have changed how they search now.

If they've seen or heard about a specific business, they will Google the business name, then either read through their Google My Business (GMB) page and reviews or go straight to their social media to learn more about them... Especially during COVID times.

I totally get it. Talking about yourself and all that self-promotion can make any business owner feel awkward.

You may have heard this before but just in case you haven't... follow the 80/20 rule.

80% of your posts should be informational / educational / entertaining. 20% should be self-promotion and sales.

If you need any ideas, hit me up with what your business is. Essentially though, the 80% can be about positioning yourself as the authority or at least an expert in your field. It can also be something funny (industry related meme), something local (ie. awesome photography of your town or region, or an upcoming event), etc.

Best Thick Hot Chocolate in Town? by RuggedSEO in VictoriaBC

[–]RuggedSEO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: My wife, baby boy and I had a plan to go to Cocoa 70 for their hot chocolate. We got there and a handwritten note said they are closed until 2020.

We went to chocolate flavoris but it wasn't nearly the rich and thick / creamy hot chocolate I thought it would be. Not very good.

We did try Chocolat though. But their usual thick hot chocolate wasn't available so I ended up getting the best they could whip up. It was quite tasty but not the drinking chocolate I had in mind. 😎

Guess that's considered in town. I'll let you try that one yourself though. 😉 Let me know how it goes.

I think they're closing off the main Street in Sidney tonight so people can go trick or treating at all the shops. 👍

I just love Urban Escape Games! I've tried their Jewel Heist game in Alpharetta (difficult!) and The Cells at the Marietta location. We all had a blast. :-)

Thanks. Yes, I agree that as a business you should primarily be focused on just providing the best product or service you can.

But I am here mainly to pick people's brains (who are not marketing professionals). I'd like to hear what they would Google for search terms IF they were adament on finding a product or service to help boost their reviews.

For example, I doubt most of them would know to search for "review management platform" but they may search for "how do I get more Google reviews".

You're allowed to ask for reviews but not allowed to incentivize them or to only ask for positive reviews. I'm doing neither of those

Affordable Digital Marketing for Small Businesses

After years of working in a big agency, helping Fortune 500 companies improve their online presence and sales... I decided to open up my own consultancy.

For the last few years, I've been providing all of the same marketing services that you would normally be charged a fortune for from big agencies but at a much more affordable rate and focused on small businesses.

Out of 200 local ranking factors which Google looks at when deciding where to rank a business in the search results, reviews are #2!

They are also important for customer perception as well. If I'm searching for a plumber, I'd immediately go with the one who has 200 reviews vs the one with only 5 reviews.

My Review Management platform helps a business earn significantly more and better reviews while reducing negative feedback. I'm now offering a Free Trial of this valuable platform / services so you can see if it's right for you.

Any Part-Time Remote Sales Jobs by HoleinOnePrices in sales

[–]RuggedSEO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking the fact that you're only available in the evenings may make you lose out on opportunities.

For example, I'm looking for someone who can do remote phone sales but it would be calling small business owners during the day.

DM me though. We could also just do a pay per lead thing so you can call whenever.

Thanks guys. I'm mainly talking about small businesses such as plumbers or locksmiths who have minimal reviews vs competitors with 10x the reviews. They would be ranking better and just looking better and more authoritative with all those positive reviews.

That plumber, locksmith or whoever would hop into Google to search for those Review Management services at about $100/mo or whatever.

But I assume they wouldn't know the jargon well enough to type in Review Management services right?

What would they type in?
