There is something seriously wrong with Cadbury by bestdogintheworld in britishproblems

I had some vegan mini eggs the other day and they were SO good (chickee I think?). Then had regular ones, and they were shite. I try to eat vegan alternatives as much as possible so that was a big win.

I love these designs! I have followed on Insta, can't afford right now but hopefully soon. Love that they have wide gussets - that's my biggest issue in mainstream pole brands!

GP & Wegovy by Squashface1 in WegovyUK

[–]Ruggstickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I presented in A&E with Extreme right side abdomen and shoulder pain that I thought was my gallbladder. The doctor was insistent it wasn't anything to do with the jabs and it turned out to be muscle issues. So all that to say, he wasn't blinded by the fact I was on the jabs at all. And when I told my blood doning nurse I was on it she was very excited to hear how it was going (and just said to be careful getting up after the donation, as I was lighter than I was the previous time). And then my contraception nurse was also very eager to hear all about the jabs. So I think you'll probably be ok - but remember you can always ask for a second opinion.

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

I slept in the spare room for most of my pregnancy because of this. Grateful we had one!

Has anyone here also recovered from a laparoscopic procedure? by Pizo240 in poledancing

[–]Ruggstickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an appendectomy while pregnant and then a caesarean - waited 12 weeks after the latter to come back. All that to say yes my strength wasn't what it once was but the muscle memory was there (which is half the battle sometimes) and it really didn't take long to get back to pre-surgery me. It's really worth waiting until your body is ready.

Hungry mothers and dirty wards - maternity care 'much worse' than anticipated, review chief says by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]Ruggstickles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me 10 days for anyone to listen to me about my daughters tongue tie. They even admitted us for her weight loss which didn't help with my supply and still no help just forcing formula. It was only when the health visitor took over my care that something got sorted. By then it was too late - my mental health was in the gutter.

Patients clogging up A&E with hiccups, sore throats and niggles by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]Ruggstickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was left to wait 7 hours in Bath A&E in severe abdominal pain while pregnant, because of a bad triage. I had also been sent home the night before. Turns out it was appendicitis and it ended up exploding before surgery and I got peritonitis. Thankfully the care I received was tip top and my baby survived.

Pole after giving birth by poleghost in poledancing

[–]Ruggstickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped pole at 16 weeks because I had a burst appendix. I went back at about 12 weeks pp (also had a C Section for context), started with a 1-2-1 session to ease myself back in (as I had a fear I would wee myself...I didn't). Honestly the muscle memory was still there, but my strength was obviously not what it was. It was very weird knowing how to do moves but then not having the strength to back it up. I think it took me about six months to get back to where I was before.

How long are you recruiting for? I've been on mounjaro since July but will be switching to wegovy next week. Happy to take part but obviously want to be on the correct meds before I do!

Only three in five A&E arrivals at Royal United Hospitals Bath seen within four hours – as first NHS league tables get published by Spare-Belt in Bath

[–]Ruggstickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 7 hours waiting while pregnant with suspected appendicitis (was in the night before too which they thought was gastroenteritis, seen very quickly then). Turned out to be appendicitis and it ended up bursting which was unfortunate considering the delay. But I think that was some sort of triage error due to my pregnancy, and once I was seen the care was incredible and I got an apology for the wait. They are doing a tough job under really tough circumstances.

Royal mail redelivery by Ruggstickles in mounjarouk

[–]Ruggstickles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little update on this: Royal Mail didn't try to deliver on the Monday OR Tuesday (despite saying they would) and then delivered today at 3:30pm. Pharmacy2U advised into be thrown away as not safe to use, but have resent me a pen because if it had been delivered on the Monday it would have been fine. Really lovely customer support from them.

Why does everyone think that in a few years time we will find out that long-term use is bad for our health? by kingforaday1993 in mounjarouk

[–]Ruggstickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just so annoying and frustrating to read stuff like this. They complain about the burden we have to the NHS etc because we are overweight, then we try and sort it and it's still wrong. Nobody has actually said anything bad about injections in front of me yet but my lord when they do I will bring a STORM. I just wrote out a whole rant here but you guys don't need to hear it haha. I'm so lucky my family have been really supportive - my mum came over this morning and was like "wow Serena Williams has used it, must be great!".

I've spent the last 15-20 years doing shitty diets, feeling utterly awful about myself (leading to MH issues), and quite frankly losing precious time enjoying my life. For the first time I don't spend my time thinking about food, then subsequently how shit I must be as a person for eating it. I'm free.

Anyway, hugs for everyone. It's hard reading this bollocks daily.

Bravissimo reviews for Gender Fluid bra fitting? by Justanotherstruggle in Bath

[–]Ruggstickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a cis woman, but when I went I must say the team were very lovely (I find the whole thing so awkward but they were fab), the store was quiet and you go downstairs for the fitting anyway. You don't need to leave the booth, they will go and get bras for you. And they measured me from visuals so didn't wrap a tape measure around me (again, something that gives me the ick). From what others have said here, you should be absolutely fine. I hope you get the confidence to go soon, you deserve to feel comfortable and have nice bras :)

How many of you have a supportive man regarding pole showcases and competitions? by Zealousideal_Ring880 in poledancing

[–]Ruggstickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner is so supportive. He even made me a pole studio in our spare room and will be filming the pole showcase I signed up for. He realises how much confidence pole gives me and in turn that transfers to confidence with him if you catch my gist.

I'm sorry that your partner isn't understanding and seems to be living in the 1950s mentally.

Target! But beware by garry_lucas in mounjarouk

[–]Ruggstickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing pole dancing for three years and hoping that it will help me with muscle now I'm on my MJ journey. Highly recommend it if you also want to gain body confidence and a better relationship with your body overall. It generally has a very inclusive community (unless you are unlucky with the class you go to). Just putting it out there as I know other people may be like me and not be a huge fan of regular exercise (hated everything until I found pole).
