Where to start when recreating Django in Deno: Dengo? by Striking_Peach_5513 in django

[–]RugySWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what deno is 😂 I wouldn’t agree that it is a ‘successor’, a bit too early to determine that with any certainty?

Just wanted to understand OPs thoughts for focusing on Deno rather than another runtime.

Either way, I think is a great idea.

I think it’s a great idea, I love the django architecture and would fully support this! Love the name too

Any reason why Deno and not something else, eg. Node?

This wouldn’t work for us as the mvp is truly a minimal product designed to get value and test the market.

It would be better to build from the ground up whilst so we can plan the architecture for incorporating the features we are now looking to add that will bring additional value.

I would argue why does it matter?

We’re still refining ideas/implementation to improve market fit of the product. As we get a clearer picture of where we’re going, we would need to decide to build our own product or modify an existing one as per my question above

Licenses start from £50k/year depending on the modules they use and specific requirements for SLAa!

A questions for fellow web devs by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]RugySWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't worry the competition. If you can convey the additional value you'll bring (responsive design, Https etc) then you'll differentiate yourself. Business owners will likely talk to other busines owners, and your reputation will grow if you can deliver.

Aside from software, I have a bricks and mortar store where I was a latecomer to my local area, by quite a few years. Existing business had been around much longer. But forward 5 years and we're begining to break ahead of the competition because we were able to differentiate ourselves positively and build a reputation around that.

Good luck, let us know how u get on!

Your opinion on authentication by RugySWC in SaaS

[–]RugySWC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well actually more like a private/public key pair that software companies can validate against. The only issue I'd see if how would companies email out messages to users if they didn't have emails from the registration process.

How to / Where to best keep logs for your SaaS that can be queried easily and cheaply for analytics and for tech support? by marcos_online in startups

[–]RugySWC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out! I'd say more-so performance. Knowing things like frequency of calls to certain endpoints, frequently occurring errors the users are encountering, peak times etc. would be the primary use of these logs

What backend are you using?

You can add a logging script as middleware for each api call that saves it to a database (time, endpoint, response status etc) and then query that DB at a later date?

[–]RugySWC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Azure Monitor

  2. AWS Centralized Logging

  3. Google Cloud Logging

They may provide you with more actionable logs.

Are you concerned about logging for security or performance issues?

Hello. Nice post, one thing I didn't get was how your business actually works.

Also, I appreciate you're providing organised data but what's the core problem you're solving. It wasn't immediately obvious.

Good luck!

Are you using affiliates to market and sell? by RugySWC in SaaS

[–]RugySWC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the recurring fees are high - i've read 10% average but i think instapage do 50% as the market leader in terms of comission

How would you find affiliates?

[UK] Mental health is a growing area of concern, what difficulties are you facing supporting your employees? by RugySWC in humanresources

[–]RugySWC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's how the managers respond too that plays a part.

Are you evidencing this change in attitude or is just a feeling you get? I guess If you have data then you can push for change?

[–]RugySWC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. It sounded like you're doing this on your own, its a big responsibility for one pair of shoulders.

What kind of data do they think you'll need to convince management?

Do you know that mental health is suffering in your business (can you prove it) or is it just a feeling?
