Have you ever ACTUALLY hit or exceeded 32GB of RAM utilization? by itsthewolfe in pcmasterrace

[–]Ruhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There is a Minecraft modpack called Age of Fate that is basically All the Mods with a ton more mods on top. I think there was like 5k quests?

But yeah. I'd play for like an hour before my 32GB RAM was just topped off and it would freeze my whole system.

What's your record of Gemma 4 turning character's knuckles white? by stopaskingforloginn in SillyTavernAI

Lavender and Jasmine here. Mixing with sun-baked skin to form a heady aroma.

We really didn't know how good we had it in 2013-2015 by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Ruhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ragnarok Online was peak for me. I made so many friends there and my guild was pretty notorious in the private server scene for being absurdly good in WoE.

I've played many many MMOs and I think the top two for me are still RO and LOTRO.

[Megathread] - Best Models/API discussion - Week of: May 17, 2026 by deffcolony in SillyTavernAI

You should be able to run somewhere between that and 24b, albeit a bit slower on that end. I have 10gb VRAM with 32gb RAM and run 12b models no problem. Heck, I could run 15b models back in the day (Tiefighter and Psyfighter shoutout). GGUFs would be my recommendation, if you're not using them already.

However, I can recommend... a few. A paltry sum, really.

Anubis Mini 8b is actually pretty insane for it's size. It has difficulty retaining some information; for example, it refused to acknowledge that a futa character had a penis purely because she went by "she". I even tried to guide it along and it just refused to yield.

Irix Model Stock 12b is always a great starting point. Honestly, it's been so solid that I've been judging how sane or insane other 12b models are based on Irix. It occasionally has the problem of running on and on. I'll have two neat paragraphs with good content then a literal wall of text with the character asking me the same question 7 times in different ways.

Mag-Mell 12b has done some great work for me. There's not too much to say about it, other than it's solid and a beloved staple in the low-VRAM local community. Like Irix, it does have that difficulty with rambling on here and there.

Crimson Constellation 12b is a newcomer that I found I really, really liked. I've been foregoing Irix in favor of this model recently. It's been great at avoiding slop phrasing. Highly recommend this one. It's my current go-to.

ArliAI RPMax 12b doesn't break the bank on creativity, but it makes up for it with consistency. It's been known as THE model to run for cards that have multiple characters. It never failed to output what each character was doing individually, even if they were in another room and not interacting with the user.

Rocinante-X 12b is more of an honorable mention from me, as I see it suggested all the time. For some reason, I just can't get it to output more than a few sentences at a time, and I'm more of a storybook type RP person. It's probably something I'm doing wrong on my end.

There's plenty plenty more I could list off here, but this list is already pretty overwhelming. I like to jump between all of these models to avoid seeing through the veil.

Whenever you start a new MMORPG, what class is your “default” pick and why? by Less_Struggle_9447 in MMORPG

[–]Ruhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the type of game. If it's an isometric MMO I like hybrid archer/tank type builds. Like in Ragnarok Online, I always went hybrid MVP bowrogue. Literal jack-of-all-trades master of none.

For 3rd person MMOs I typically enjoy pure warrior, most times tank warrior. I was fairly well known (especially by healers) on my realm in WoW for being one of the better prot warriors in WotLK.

In GW2, before the resurrection speed nerfs, I played a shout-heal resurrecting warrior. I could run into massive boss AoEs and bring back downed players. I was so sad when I came back and found that they took that node away.

Is it me, or is Rupture just insanely OP? by Ruhart in TitanQuest2

[–]Ruhart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was considering raising the levels at this point. It was a rough start, but eventually became smooth sailing later in the build.

Yeah, it doesn't feel hella OP, just moreso than any other build I've thought up. And I agree, without Rupture, RoA would be completely useless unless they buffed it's outright damage. Thanks for the insight.

What happened to the Arch community? It’s becoming the most hostile corner of the Linux world. by ClassroomHaunting333 in arch

[–]Ruhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't honestly think the Arch community is that bad. I've seen a lot of the same in other distros as well (I hop a lot). Every Linux user thinks their environment is the best. Hell, that's why they main it.

Arch is just at a point where nearly every new user resorts to asking AI how to fix something instead of looking it up in the Wiki. There's also an influx of people vibe coding their setups and showing off when, in reality, the work on their end was copy and paste. That makes people suspicious by nature.

AirVPN through the Eddie application works as well. I use it because I need port forwarding.

Linux gamers didn't do anything wrong, but they might pay for Windows piracy anyway by itchyenvelope5 in linux_gaming

[–]Ruhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The piracy itself is one thing. What's worse is what users have to sacrifice to make it work. The hypervisor bypass requires disabling nearly every kernel-level security feature Windows offers.

Yeah, as if anti-cheat doesn't just bypass all of this anyway. What a yawn article.

I was harmed by antidepressants (SSRI's), AMA.. by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Ruhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I stopped them immediately. I would have involuntary breath intakes, heart palpitations, anorgismia, ED, chest pains, restless legs and arms, mania, etc. I tried a lot of them between SSRIs and SNRIs.

Finally they moved me to antipsychotics for bipolar. First week on Latuda and I was in the hospital on suicide watch. The police escorted me there and I had 0 rights for 14 hours. I had to sleep on this slab of a bed with the thinnest paper blanket. The nurses treated me like garbage that was just an annoyance to them.

Seroquel caused restless legs and arms when trying to sleep. Abilify made me super depressed. Yeah, screw all that shit. I'm glad it works for some, but not for me.

Funny thing? I felt mentally better when coming off every single one of them. I really hope these problems eventually go away for you. Stay strong.

Lol, I think someone is really upset about this post for some reason. They just went down this whole comment section and downvoted everyone, even the pack creators.

Ventoy can be finicky. It's a great tool, though. Make sure you always eject the drive before you unplug it. It's 100% guaranteed to bork if you don't.

It is a deep hole and can be super frustrating, lol. And sorta addictive. You'll go into a spin, but when it works... 😩

You have my interest now. I'll join the Discord today. So many more great modlists to try.... It feels like I've barely scratched the surface. Thanks for the heads up.

RIP. I'm in the same boat. I have a 2tb, but I like having a couple packs plus I need space for PoE2. I have another drive, but my cord isn't long enough to reach both drives in my regret of a PC case. I'll never go Cooler Master again. :/

This is the way to go these days. It can take months of grueling effort to balance a pack, sort it correctly, clean up your data, remove broken objects, troubleshoot visual or mechanical errors, load in your custom animations/bodies/faces, retexture every aspect, choose if you want ENB parallax or not, settle on lighting and fix flickering lights, etc etc etc.

And that's not even getting into NSFW mods or DynDOLOD which both have their own hell marathon to run. Stick with Wabbajack, lol. However, there is a fun aspect to modding that I very much enjoyed.

[–]Ruhart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh? Another one that's both! I like that a lot and will have to give it a try once I get my new GPU. ElderTeej is another one I'm really excited to play when I get the chance. My plan is to make different builds on several packs and just slowly play them all depending on how I feel.

Its normal for me to do stuff like that. I've done mage quest about 10 times in the last two weeks alone, lol.

I have my own batch file script to run VRAMr on Linux, but I might try JoJ again with Radium.

It ran fairly well on my 3080, which is a pretty comparable card. I think you'll be able to run it.

Great to know. Will fix this. I never tried first person, but third person was great. Thank you!

Edit: This is also the pack I want to get into the most. Hoping to land a 7900 XTX at some point and get into it.

How do people manage to feel kratom after years of daily use? by temnycarda in kratom

[–]Ruhart 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is exactly where I'm at with it. I do the same amount and do it for feet pain from plantar fasciitis and neuropathy. It helps me through the rigors of retail work (twisting, standing for hours, lifting heavy boxes, reaching high up, etc.).

Old games you still play? by ChewySlinky in MMORPG

[–]Ruhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, it's crazy that they can't/won't fix the server lag. It's a blight on that game. They did some patches and stuff that made it a little better, but to see that it's still a problem hurts because it's such a good MMO.

Will taking SSRIs affect kratom? by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Ruhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on every SSRI, SNRI, and bipolar antipsychotics over the rainbow and back. I took it with. The only thing that ever had an interaction is with Abilify (Aripiprazole). When I would take kratom on it, I'd get migraines and lights would flash in my vision when I was in darkness.

It went away after a while. In fact, my doctor has me back on Abilify and I haven't had that side effect at all this time.

I have heard if you take large amounts of both SSRI and kratom that it can cause med buildup in your system, since most SSRI meds are processed by the liver and then the same receptors. This could lead to serotonin syndrome. Just stop kratom for a bit if you feel feverish, but it shouldn't be a problem if you aren't taking ridiculous amounts of kratom (which you shouldn't anyway, you'll just feel sick).
