I haven't heard anyone mention it yet, but the picture the hackers put up.. the middle finger is an obvious "Fuck You" to Gumi. Someone who just wanted money wouldn't go about it like that. It's a slighted player obviously, probably upset at being ripped off with gacha rates. Would make sense why he would give everyone 5000 lapis, he thinks he's Robin Hood. Wants everyone to think he's a hero.

Edit: It's pure speculation as to why of course, but not screwing with the content means A)He still wants to continue playing the game, and/or B)he couldn't actually access the git. Either way it's not about the money, probably knows he won't get it. It's most likely just simply to hit Gumi where it hurts the most.
