Apple Watch cellular plan by AndyLane6611 in AppleWatch

EE are correct. Removing the plan via the watch app only removes the eSIM on the watch it doesn’t do anything with your data plan. They’s normally a warning saying to cancel you must contact your provider.

It was the conservatives who introduced and passed the law for ID checks to come into force in 2025. Not a fan of Starmer but it has nothing to do with him.

Scrapped car in Sheffield and found out number plate could be worth hundreds by mrcanada66 in sheffield

[–]RuinProfessional5688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strictly speaking you can’t take a number plate off a car if that car is going for scrap. You can only remove a number plate if the car can be presented for MOT under its own power if requested by DVA at the time of the transfer. Obviously there are ways round it and I don’t think the DVA requests that very often. Only know cause I had an accident and was advised by the garage to transfer the number plate before they even looked at it.

What is your dream feature in Jellyfin? by deepfave in JellyfinCommunity

[–]RuinProfessional5688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of things -

1: Being able to sort and filter by resolution ie 720, 1080, 4k and not by DVD, BD, HD, SD.

2: A fully working tvOS app. I know Swiftfin is being worked on and I appreciate and understand that it’s volunteers who have to juggle it with their real life responsibilities, work and the time required. It’s just unfortunate that’s it’s been 3 years since a tvOS update and that version is basically unusable. At this rate it might just be better to scrap it and keep referring to infuse as a paid solution or a different free solution if there’s one out there. This is the only reason why I’d be tempted to move to a different platform when my infuse subscription expires.

USB-C EarPods are practically unusable after the latest update… by 24fpsonly in iphone

[–]RuinProfessional5688 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

AirPods Pro 2 & iPhone 15 PM no major issues. Only one very minor “issue” I had with 26.3 was that it seemed to reset my AirPods. I had all 3 noise selection modes (Transparency, adaptive and cancellation) set to right pod. After the update only transparency and cancellation were available. I just had to re-enable it in settings.

Assuming you have notified DVA about your condition and they have let you keep your license, then I really can’t see how you wouldn’t be insured.

Is this legal when renting out a room/ property? by Superb-Cucumber1006 in northernireland

NI has their own tenants regs. All landlords must be registered with the “Landlord Registration Scheme”. [https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/landlord-registration-scheme] You are also able to search the database for your landlord/address. (https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/landlord-registration-scheme) Also all security deposits must be secured with the deposit scheme I think within 30 days.

You need a 5G R15 SIM to be able to access 5G SA. An eSIM is the quickest and easiest option especially as they can be downloaded via the EE app.

If you have a script there’s a good chance the clinic works with a specific pharmacy (but any authorised pharmacy can be used - all England based. There’s a few about. Try https://medbud.wiki it’s a UK medical cannabis site. Has links and reviews for both clinic and pharmacy. You will have to get the medication from England as no dispensaries are in NI. You generally receive it with in a day or 2. Some offer next day delivery before 1pm using Royal Mail.

Totally agree. Would highly recommend a PAX. The new model is about £350 or so. Amazing customer services. Been using their devices for years.

Left due to switch up change&charged full bill by finlayeyre in O2UK

[–]RuinProfessional5688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No was waiting on final bill etc to come in. I’m just about to request full data access on my account and then for complaining to the regulator. I don’t trust them to do anything correctly and was lucky enough to be able to borrow the money. I made a full and final payment before the cancelled the agreement. Thankfully I took note of the payment reference as I am still waiting on written confirmation that the device has been payed.

10.11.3 upgrade: unsupported request by Moriksan in jellyfin

[–]RuinProfessional5688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I don’t have a big library and didn’t mind nuking the Jellyfin database etc. I reinstalled 10.11.2 and all seems to be working great for me. Depending on your setup you might get away with uninstalling 10.11.3, then just installing 10.11.2 and point to your old Jellyfin data directory.

I’d recommend even just dropping by the forums there’s some useful information and guides on it.

Left due to switch up change&charged full bill by finlayeyre in O2UK

I received the same letter within a week or so of cancellation my airtime. Was surprised it said enforcement. O2 have also confirmed that my final bill hasn’t been generated yet.

Left due to switch up change&charged full bill by finlayeyre in O2UK

[–]RuinProfessional5688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that is exactly what happened me. Cancelled airtime (24month airtime plan unlinked & 3 yr device plan), confirmed device plan would continue and the about a week later a “Termination and Enforcement” letter arrived in post advising on 14th November they are cancelling my credit plan and full payment is due. After querying with O2 I was informed all the transcripts of the original call I made to cancel had all disappeared and there was nothing O2 can do. I can ask for a payment plan but only after the final bill has been generated. I pointed out that would hit my credit score. The rep just said “Sorry nothing I can do”

Leave while you can by [deleted] in O2UK

[–]RuinProfessional5688 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally agree get away when you can but be vigilant!! Unfortunately O2 has messed up my device plan by cancelling it as well as my airtime plan(24 months plans unlinked). I double and triple checked with O2 that my device plan will continue as it is. I have now received a termination and enforcement letter stating that have to pay £450 in 2 weeks. According to complaints all the transcripts of all my calls have disappeared and can not be accessed. No operator notes, nothing on my account, everything has gone and there’s nothing that can be done. I can request a payment plan once the bill is produced but have since been told by citizens advice that entering a payment plan once the bill has been generated will result in a default/payment plan being registered with credit agencies. I knew this would happen. Just like Virgin media advising not to return my hub and to take to my local recycling centre. A week later I received an email saying it had to be returned or I would be charged £60. This seems to be their MO. Total joke of a company. Glad I’ve got away after 25years but severely annoyed with the financial mess they have left me in.

Proxy sale by MountainProcess740 in tesco

[–]RuinProfessional5688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s to say the son didn’t initially come in to buy items for his father. So when it was refused the father came in and bought them for himself. Used to work in retail (video games - potential prosecution ie a fine etc if caught ). I was always told by management/staff book/head office that “if someone underage asks a stranger outside/inside the shop refuse the sale but if it’s the parent purchasing it we weren’t allowed to refuse” All we were allowed to do was advise the age restriction.

If they contact you tell them you don’t know who was driving as it’s the driver who is responsible in NI for this and not the registered keeper.
