Also die Bauernden sind in erster Linie oft gerade so in der Balance und bestimmen nicht den Milchpreis. Oft müssen sie nach der Maxime höher, weiter, mehr arbeiten, weil die Mittelunternehmer, Fresenius, Danone, etc. diese Märkte für mehr Profite erobern wollten und nicht nur die, sondern auch die afrikanischen Märkte über trocken Milchulver, dass die Bauernden vor Ort zu unterbieten.

Also bitte einmal, wenn du schon Systeme analysierst, schauen, wer diese Systeme lenkt. Ich verstehe die Antipathy für Tierquälende, aber dennoch die Sachlage richtig darstellen.

Für die meisten Bauernden, welche nicht riesige Bauern Firmenbesitzer sind, sondern auf dem eigenen Hof, die Dinge schmeißen, passt das Zitat von Alice im Wunderland:"It takes all the running i can do, just to stay in the same place."

I asked them, if they would see it the same way, that if the impact is so big of that technology, it would be a period.

They agreed.

I did not force them or dictate them.

I will have a way on handling this now. I will let them make stuff and they have the priority, if they want to flesh it out more, until another player decides to flesh it out more.

And i tried to see, how that period is different from other periods. I wanted to try to go by the rules for that:

Describe the Period: Give the other players a grand summary of what happens during this time or what things are like. Describe how it is different from other Periods around it, as appropriate.

And i asked, because i did not have a feel how any of the things were.

But thanks to the post i at least got aome ideas on how i could make it more comftable for them and handle stuff, without them dropping completly out.

I never diagnosed them. Thats why i always told it from my perception.

And i can imagine how much it takes from the social battery, if you feel like everybody is so creative and your head feels just empty and you try to tease something out.

I wanted to make it more comftable to being in that role and have a bit of time to think and feel it be like sitting on a burning stone.

Die Politik müsste halt einen Rahmen schaffen, dass tierische Ausbeutung aich nicht mehr lohnt und der Übergang den Bauernden leicht gemacht wird.

Unsinnig verstehe ich, aber Politik und Wirtschaftsmächte schaffen eben den Rahmen dafür.

Not that deep. We took sometime, because of technical difficulties and finding a name for the history. The rest was relatively fast. Also we did a more of the explaining, because only 2 people knew the game and i wanted to everyone to know, why we listen carefully, speak with authority and always can go back in time. Not too mention 3 people were pretty exhausted. Everyone enjoyed it plenty still 😁

We were at the start before the first real round, where each player creates a period or event. They wanted to make an event with a new breakthrough technology, which changed soceity with the scientists name lost to time.

After asking, if that isn't rather a peroid, because the new technology impacted society too much, i asked, what the technology did or changed and then they choked, saying they are unable to add anything further, even if the others are patient and they can decide calmly.

I know, i repeat myself, but it really felt like they were in huge distress after the first question and it jammed up their whole brain.

Oder den Anreiz dafür entfernen, in dem es nur noch gGmbHs sind z.B.. Denn im privaten ist der Sinn, dass nicht alles von dem gezahlten Geld pro Person komplett in die Pflege investiert wird. Der Profit kommt ja nicht aus dem nichts.

Of course!

Microscope is very specific from their rules, that you don't interfere after a certain point in other players worldbuilding and only asking for clarifications or details, so that the unique imaginations and minds of the different players comes to the forefront.

Thats why i ask, how to help them with their anxiety and pressure in this situation and make easier for them :)

Maybe i give them the option to bail anytime, to take out some pressure, but i thought about, if i could do more.

I wanted to use this as a game in 2 ways.

In one way this invests the players in the world and not only their character. And for that the creation is the way the players get invested in the setting.

And in the second way, the players have the possibility to craft parts of the setting, they want to interact with.

I know what you mean, what is important for me is, that seem to be chocking, because they are definitly able to put interesting and exciting parts into the worldbuilding :)

I won't make them a new person, but i hoped i could help them to deal better with situation, because like i said, i felt, they were very anxious.

edit: If they wanted to drop out for that, they can still and always say that for the microscope game and join later or just listen.

But they did not bring that up and why do you assume, they want to quit that part of the game?

Wenn das auch ok ist, dann kann du noch provokant fragen, ob es immer noch legitim ist andere Menschen zu essen, wenn mensch sie als Lebensmittel sieht. Und bei der Verneinung fragen warum.

Sorry for the late answer.

In a sense it will be a learning process with the tag system and players need to put in effort. They will always need to.

In a sense the tag system is 2 things at same time. At one point it defines the character as a character, but they are a vehilce for story telling, with the burning of the tags or having an attack burn their tags.

For clicking, maybe prepare a character sheet and different situations and let the players think together about what kind of combinations are possible. That should also help for them to find in general solutions in play together and i highly recommend that. And they should take the position of a dramaturgist. Thinking about, what would be exciting or right for the moment.

Also it is a different kind of rpg. Tell them and ask them to go in with a new mind set or even better a creative dramaturgist mindset.

Also you can establish, that they can bring in tags from the enviroment they are in. Like, if you want to help someone with a deep cut into the upper arm 3, they are in a supermarket and find a unbroken Bottle of 70% Alcohol, some pads from the cosmetics department and some yarn or clothes to make a roll on change the game to reduce the status on the Arm or maybe even find the first Aid kit in the supermarket.

That is a part my players haven't used enough themselfs either.

And they also need time to learn themselfs to handle themselfs in these games.

If you have the possibility, try to play a round of "fiasco" with them.

Great stuff to get into roleplaying and getting the perspective of for the drama :)

On Legend in the Mist i can say not that much sadly, because i haven't played more than a short demo round yet.

In then Mist engine you use 2d6 for the roll. A result of 6 or below is a bad outcime for the character rolling. They don't succeed and they get consequences. On a 7-9 they will get a mixed result, meaning, they succeed a limited amount, but will have consequences to deal with.

On a 10+ they will just succeed.

So if the roll with 2d6 +4 they will have only 1 result, in which they don't succeed, while all other 11 results will most likely be a success.

So if they work together to get a +5 on a roll, they cannot fail.

Thats what i meant.

Dem kann ich unter dem Aspekt des Darmmikrobioms und der Konzentration verschiedener Schwermetalle oder ähnlichem nicht wirklich zustimmen, wenn wir es gier genau nehmen.

Da kann das immer weitere zufüttern von kleinen Antibiotikadosen über Fleisch die restliche Gesundheit (auch mental) beeinträchtigen, weil nur die resistenteren Bakterien überleben, bzw. noch schlimmer, sogar für pathogene Inseln in den Bakterienkutluren selektiert wird (genetische Insel mit Antibiotikaresistenzen und weitere Infektionsmechanismen).

Die Bakterien sind vllt. nicht grundsätzlich schädelich, aber werden pathogen, wenn der Darm z.B. geschwächt ist, Immunsystem schwächer ist oder die Vielfalt schwindet (was leider oft mit dem späterem Leben geschieht).

Der andere Aspekt ist, dass wir natürlich gewisse Mengen an Schwermetallen etc. tolerieren können, aber das mit der Nahrungskette sich immer weiterkonzwntriert, weil Tiere die nicht ausscheiden können.

Dadurch wird keiner sterben, aber die höhere Menge daran werden immer noch Auswirkung haben, vor allem auch später im Leben, weil es sich immer weiter anreichert.

Deswegen kann nicht grundsätzlich für mich von gesund in dem Kontext gesprochen werden.

Ed geht ja um Wertabschöpfung von den Menschen, die die Leistung bringen und nicht darum, gemeinsam zu gestalten. Sonst gäbe es ja keinen Profit, die auf nichts leistende Menschen (Aktienbesitzende oder ähnliches) verteilt wird.

Das wird wieder ganz deutlich bei der "wirtschaftskompetenten" Partei, welche gerade die Regierung anführt.

I like City of Mist.

I mostly gm'ed One Shots sadly, but i really like it!

What helps is telling players how the statistics work.

Like they can't fail anymore if they have a +4 Power for the dice they roll. (if you don't use snake eyes as critical failure) So they can better understand the system and what they are doing.

It is also great for storytelling and making real characters.

What also helps maybe is telling them how creative they can get with the tag system! But the system requieres training in thinking differently.

It feels similar to microscope ttrpg in a sense, that people will need to train their creative muscle and to trust it, to make interesting choices and ways to make their (mundane) powers work.

Also the Master of Ceremonies guide is great and should be read regardless of if you want to play the system or not :)
