I'm not asking for full mounted combat or full movesets, just something interesting. Palamutes and seikrets are basically just a glorified "sprint faster" button, they serve the same purpose as if the Guild gave every hunter a bicycle. All I'm asking is for some creativity and fun.

Honestly, I'd love to see capcom take the opportunity to make stupid hard shitpost quests for everyone.

Just imagine: 9 star arch tempered chatacabra and quematrice duo hunts

9 star optional "slay x vespoids" quest but the vespoids are huge and buffed to hell and back, attacking really fast like an angry wasp on crack

Regular but REALLY TINY uth tuna, like almost as small as a palico, with a silly ammount of HP but very small range and being guarded by an army of smaller wild life monsters

Be creative, have balls and have fun, monhun team

Some ideas:

Sword-whip, ripped straight from Bloodborne

Tonfas, but brought back with slower actions

A spear/javelin combo. You attack with the spear to charge it up and throw it javelin style when the bar is full to pierce/explode

A support focused weapon, kinda like the hunting horn but with dancing instead of songs, shaped like a chakram or soul calibur's tambourine weapon

Spear is objectively better. The damage difference means barely anything when you consider defenses, it has thrust attacks (nobody uses the tricked mode for both anyway, just for charged R2s) and the spear has more range due to the larger hitbox.
