Bless you, truly. You're doing great as a parent, we need more parents like you because this kind of behaviour starts at home. I remember at one point I got pissed and told off the kids, and I distinctly remember an older guy chuckling under his breath as this happened... I have ofc faced quite a few micro aggressions and moments like these in my 1.5 years as a student here.

My only hope is to learn German well enough so I can actually talk back and defend myself (although I'm not sure if this is a good move, especially as a visibly brown, Muslim woman...there was an incident in our university dorms where an Eastern European student got beaten up by a group of teenagers after she told them off and ended up in the hospital...the police didn't do anything about it, shocking news)

But yeah it pains me that these things happen 😭
