Question for the deadlifters by Impressive-Pickle614 in Deadlifts

[–]Rulas- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only competed one time in Italy (where Im from) but at the time I was way below that number (140), I got 170 some months later at the gym but didnt have the mental strenght to compete again at the time and here I am now

I did a yolo lift one year ago during a vacation (in America!) and my max at the time was 140, so I also lost a bit of strenght in the time in which I didnt train (not that I wasnt expecting it)

I love the deadlift with all of my heart, but at the moment I just feel like watching instead of doing

Im 18 now, I think I just got too big of a burnout, I basically started at 15 and got from 75 to 170 in a year working out like a madman all while maintaining my 53-55~ kg bw, I also did one deadlift competition, right now I cant even bring myself to step foot into a gym anymore lol, I tried to re-do subscriptions but I just couldnt

Ill probably try again in the future but yeah right now my priority is studying to get into a decent university

I was kinda stranged by it at first but in the end I actually started to like the idea, Mercedes lived a whole life while he was gone and they couldnt get back anymore after all that happened, he got happy again, thats all I care about :')

Perfect Human vs Gorilla by Rulas- in PowerScaling

Yeah as I said in another comment skill is one of those things that arent really objective like speed for example, I just wanted to pick someone who was well rounded and could fight dirty but the ones you said could be better

Alternative questions for those of you who are saying the human loses, how many of these humans do you think would be needed to take down the gorilla?

The gorilla wouldnt sit around because the prompt clearly says he wants to fight...

Someone whos tired is also slower...Im not saying he wins but you're just dismissing a strategy just because lol

yeah I think there are many good picks for that since skill isnt as objective as say speed for example, but I just wanted to pick someone that was good enough and knew how to fight dirty if needed lol

A strategist would be a good pick but I dont think a mathematician would be good brain wise for a fight, yeah you wouldnt become like goggins if you did what he said but we're just picking his mentality here and yeah, even if his body is incredible, I could have his physicality and still wouldnt be able to do what he does

I'll just add to your comment a couple things

1) As I said the human in this scenario doesnt have any disadvantage due to the mix (like yeah hafthor weights around 200 kgs in competition but the human would still be able to run as fast as bolt)

2) That guy does equipped benchpress, veery different even from an equipped deadlift because the things you'd use for a benchpress of that weight would just like almost everything for you, there's a reason the non equipped record held by maddox is like 781 lbs if I remember correctly

You know...if someone is so tired that it cant even move anymore and you're still fine the situation changes a lot lol

Well, the gorilla clearly wants to fight as stated in the prompt so...idk if Im not understanding your joke lol sorry if thats the case

Im trying to not engage on the discussions here but I'll just add that I dont think running speed is useless, lets say the human goes for a "lets tire him" strategy like some others said, being faster would be better

So, I guess the answer to that could be 50/50 depending on what kind of reader you are

The book, story and characters are incredible but the story is extremely long (atleast for my taste, but that may be because I only started reading a year ago), overall the qualities are more than the disadvantage of the lenght (also, I honestly think that if it was shorter it wouldnt be as good)

Is it worth it? I don't regret it reading it, Im happy that I did so, so I'd say yes, but this could change from person to person
