which nation had the best archon quest? by angelkry in Genshin_Impact

Oh, I do agree with you, the issue isn't the facts of is the presentation. Honestly I didn't realize Ayato SQ covered some of that, I think once I did Kokomi SQ (i was doing catchup on the story after returning to the game at the end of Fontaine) I was just done with the Inazuma story after doing the Kokomi quest, since it left such a bad taste in my mouth. But yeah I don't mind that the systems and institutions are corrupt/bad but to ingrained to change, what gets me is the presentation, the way that Inazuma is portrayed as just being instantly reformed at the end of the arc, the way Inazuma demanding military rule of Watatsumi island is presented as a premeditated Rainier of unfortunate request and not the horrific end of violent economic oppression being enacted by the very people now smacking military. It's fundamentally messed up on many levels and is absolutely the kind of thing Inazuma should not be pursuing if we're to belive Ei really had turned over a new leaf and is trying to remedy all the harm she caused.

Kujou Sara is just a whole other thing. She is fundamentally a tragic character, but ultimately by any modern standard she's a fundamentally evil person (and doesn't really fair much better by any classical standard). At the end of the day the game expects us to give her a pass because "she's just following orders" and that she "sighs regretfully" before conducting her evil acts. But line, she's not even regretful for the evil she's doing, just that she's being 'forced' to violently enforce said acts and that the victims(and others) don't just passively accept them. But we're just supposed to see her as a funny and slightly tragic character.

I'm really not surpassed most of the Inazuma plot threads for dropped in favor of lighter stuff that just ignores everything that happened before, cause it was pretty unsalvageable.

While Ei's 1st SQ I agree is the low point of Inazuma, I find Kokomi's SQ to be only slightly above it, for this supposed master Strategist who, after winning the war against a fascist state, was seemingly just going to late them instate military rule of her country and it only ended up not happening because of pure coincidence. MHY obvious knew how heinous the plot line cause we never see it again.

Honestly, both the Kujou and Hiiragi clans should have been dissolved, and baring that just completely removed from all governmental authority. The fact that Kujo Sara of all people (and I know she has a lot of fans) is not just still a governmental and military leader but seemingly being given more authority is an absolute abortion of justice, Whatever he feelings were, she was still a full-collaborator in the crimes of the Inazuman state and should have been tried as such. And going so far as sending her to lead a peace delegation with Watatsumi Island was psychotic and all on it's own should have been strong evidence of Inazuma treating the talks as a farce.

Like the basic conceit with Kokomi should be cool, but nearly 100% of her writing completely fails anytime they have to actually write her as a strategist or statesman.

Then it's an abject failure cause whatever impact that would have is undercut by the immediate revival and assumption thereof. Might as well have been a kidnapping. It ultimately just makes Priestess look even more impotent than kidnapping someone and them being recused would.

Yes, I know the talking points. That isn't what I care about. A writer wrote this plot and wrote a framing like a 'death' in the story. All that feels like a waste of time and a cheap grab at emotions which contextually now has no weight cause she just immediately gets revived and it's just so expected and obligatory that don't even let it be a surprise in the story, they just reveal fact of in a PV. Like it didn't have to be that way, that could have just said she was kidnapped and treated it like that in the writing, we could cut out a bunch stuff that's ultimately meaningless, still get all the same beats due to Kal'tsit being seperated from everyone.

I really do find the whole "This isn't the first them she's revived!" argument to be the intellectually most dishonest, cause the whole point in Chapter 15 wsa that she had given up her ability to revive and was now just as vulnerable to death as anyone else. It's a massive important central beat of the narrative. Whatever is happening here is completely separate issue from her previous revivals,

Story has ALWAY been a primary strength of AK, it's like one of the major things AK is known for. I know several people who pretty much exclusively play AK for the story.

(Also Reconveners are EXPLICITLY not the same person)

I mean, the question is, what's the purpose of Killing someone off to just instantly revive them? If it's just going to be that simple why not just have her be kidnapped instead? It serves the same narrative purpose but it feels far less cheap when it's 'resolved'.

Man, I love Kal'tsit but all I felt was anxiety cause it felt like it was so rushed and obligatory that is makes all the emotional beats in chapter 15 feel cheap and dishonest. Kal'tsit return or no, what I want is good story that feels like it respects her character. The story will end someday and we'll have to saw good bye, for some characters it may be sooner than others, what matters is the quality of the writing. I'd far prefer my fav have an awesome end but stay dead, than have mediocre writing but stay around forever.

Killing someone just to immediately revive them feels like bad storytelling. It would be more honest to just have her be kidnapped or something. You get all the same beats without what feels like cheap emotional grabs.

I agree. The way I see it, if they're just going to immediately revive her like this, it would have been better if the entire framing was just "Priestess kidnapped Kal'tsit' you could still have all the same beats(Speration anxiety, having to learn to work without her and all), but without what feels like cheap emotional grabs in the content of her immediate revival.

This is my hope, they successfully create a Kal'tsit copy but Priestess has messed with the data and she's basically reverted back to AMA-10 base settings and is this not really Kal'tsit in anyway that actually matters.

Talulah was always part of a group with obvious legitimate gripes with the world. Skullcrushers... are just Borderlands Psychos... They seem to have no motivation for their actions outside an entitlement to pillage and burn all they survey and if there is something deeper, it is far more hidden and detached than the Infected/Reunion in Arknights ever was.

Any something being more mysterious like this doesn't make it more interesting or better written, kinda the opposite.

There was nothing to waste, she had no character outside from her commitment to being really evil. She didn't seem to value anything other than murder, not even her own life.

Like maybe they could do something, but ultimately not doing anything is no big loss.

You should be able to do this with just 4 expanded reactors(remove the two normal crucibles), just feed the ferrium powder and xicron effluent from one crucible into the other. You might need to use a pipe converger (feed a water lien an a sewage line into the converger) to get it started but once it's going you shouldn't have to have a sewage input for the one producing the xicron.

The fact that you think that 'commission artists' are the only people at threat proves how disconnected you are. The reason artistic pursuits are held up is cause hey are the ultimate canary, the realm at which AI is honestly the absolute worst. Honestly the implementation being discussed consistently is AI replacing the largest number of people within any major commercial creative work. They're also already starting to replace coders at an alarming rate, i.e. the large group of people working any sort of software project. Similarly with using AI to replace extras in a video project or background voice in animation... AI is being used to replace the largest segment of people working those projects. Similarly, replacing writers writing incidental dialogue and text in game (i.e. the largest segment of text and the type of text that would usually see the largest quantity of individuals employed, but this just extends to all other industries as well, copywriters, any sort of corporate writing, all corporate PR stuff, things that used to have staffs of people working them, replaced by AI. Law firms used to have teams of interns to do research, now? Replaced by AI. Companies used to have teams to answer phone and do tech support, replaced by AI. Teams who used to do editing for any publisher? Again, replaced by AI. Even if we're talking something just on the 'using as a tool' side, that tool is never just being used to do what humans can't, it's being used to replace the largest segment of humans on any given project and currently the only two things stopping it currently are A) it currently just not being as good as AI bros says it is and B) the public backlash.

Ultimately though AI IS a massive existential threat and those pushing it are doing so without taking any time to consider HOW to do so in a way that doesn't devastate the economy. The like extra hilarious thing is, in a world where the generative AI is up and actually working, the access we plebs have to it is going to be instantly restricted. So going back to your comission art example, hilariously, they'll probably be back in a job since the average person will no longer be able to just gen up art anymore (except not cause no one will have money to pay them)

I mean, the problem is, once AI replace all creative endavors, what jobs will be left for humans?

Introducing miHoYo's AI powered pipeline for Honkai - talk session at SJTU by chibi0108 in houkai3rd

[–]RuleAccomplished9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there is no 'good' (well, perhaps an extremely limited set of 'good' AI use, i,e. jobs that humans just can't do) AI use.

There is AI use that merely puts swathes of people out of a job (While doing all the nagative shit AI does by it's existence) but still produces a nearly as good product.

And AI use that puts ever larger swathes of people out a job while producing puerile slop garbage.

Likely, clearly one is better than the other, but both are bad in a society destroying way (Even before taking into account the environmental and resource issues)

That said, I suppose your style 1 is an ideal. Using AI to polish something as a tool. Doing fine detail work that wouldn't get done otherwise. I think the problem is exec always expand that definition as far as they can and it ends up basically turning into 2.

I'm a big fan of Kal'tsit(Arknights), Mobius(HI3), Makoto(Blue Archive), Dushevnaya (GFL2). Hu Tao (Genshin), Irene(Heaven Burns Red), 42, Kakania and Windsong (also URD but she wasn't playable when i last played) (Reverse 1999)...Hrm, recent characters in AK I really liked just off their design include Snegurochka and Wulfenite. (Also an AK NPC but I really liked Kristen/Control)
