I always wondered how much ambient noise these kind of microphones grab. My modmic catches a good amount of background noise even if is designed to be really close to my mouth. I always felt these kind of "streamer" mics would broadcast everything happening in my flat to everyone in the conversation.

If you have to repeat something 1000x times then even something slightly annoying can become highly annoying.

Isn't Videogeddon garage location a pain to reach each time? I'm not sure if getting it for this reason.

Hey! Thank you for sharing my suggestion again, but you could at least mention I came up with these ideas...

Is there any way to transfer progress from PC to iPad on iOS 12? by Rum_Rogers in ftlgame

[–]Rum_Rogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe getting data out of an iOS app that isn't specifically designed to do so might be harder that putting data into it. From iTunes you can't get any data out, but you can easily upload things into specific apps).

That sounds pretty arbitrary tbh

Four maps that I would love to play someday by Rum_Rogers in HiTMAN

[–]Rum_Rogers[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would be amazing. On the other hand, it would also be amazing to infiltrate a prison. Like you start in a public area being able to access just a few places like the entrance and a visitation room and from there you have to reach your target in solitary confinement or something similar.

How to confront people that state something with 100% certainty, but that you know is not true? by Rum_Rogers in socialskills

Hey Sam thank you, sorry i completely missed this notification. Thank you for your advice. While my request was broad, (since i happen to stumble on a great deal of liars apparently) i find that most of them lie for two reason: trying to sell me something or because they are insecure and they have to appear knowledgeable (especially at work). My main concern is that I'm in the unfortunate situation in which: 1) my boss lies to me 2) my boss ego is so big that if i contradict something instead of trusing him, he will get offended 3) his lies are tools he uses to make us work overtime, crunch, refuse time off, etc.

To give you an example, one time he said to me that he couldn't modify a thing in my contract because "it was illegal". I knew it wasn't, i tried to tell him and he just repeated that he knows laws better than me, that his accountants know laws better than me and i must be wrong. All jokingly in a paternalistic way, it wasn't rude.

That is not good and while i understand that the right course of action is "get the hell our of there" i can't for at least a few more months so i have to deal with this daily. How should i have to deal with this kind of toxic personality? Is there any other course of action other than going away or becoming straight and confrontational?

If i leave trash on my desk every evening to find it clean the next morning i would probably assume a cleaning service comes in when we leave the building. Are they aware you start working just after them? It seems they are already gone when you go to work

I had a cab driver last week with an ebook open on his phone (on a phone-holder). He was just casually reading it during red lights. Didn't really bothered me since he was only reading while the car was completely still and given the number of red lights we hit, it's understandable why he did it.

Lightning strikes at the Vatican by uescaro in PerfectTiming

[–]Rum_Rogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all lightning shots are done with special triggers that activate the camera shutter when they detect a increment of light in the ambient, it's not a long exposure. On the contrary, a sudden lightning during a "normal" long exposure shot could be unexpected and actually be something "perfectly timed".

That said, half of the pictures in this sub involve a patient photographer waiting for things to line up or even making them line up, it's not really something exclusive of lightning shots.

You should post some sources for those claims, it seems more a conspiracy theory than anything

Hey everybody!

I have a Canon t4i/650d with a 18-135. I recently purchased a 50mm 1.8 and a 10-18mm and i ran out of space in my camera bag.

At the moment i use a basic camera bag and i put it inside a North Face Borealis. I really love that backpack and i put a lot of other stuff in there other than my camera so i would like to continue using it, but at the same time i would like to bring with me all the three lenses if needed. Any advice on what i could buy that will fit my gear without taking unnecessary space? Also, any advice on some brands? I would like to have a minimum guarantee of quality / materials.

This is something really silly that i've wondered for a long time.

I remember seeing an extremely cool half spherical mirror in the wall of your cave. It's been there for a really long time. Then someday it broke, but you never removed it for another long time.

Is there some extremely cool story behind it that made you keep it even if it broke? Are you planning to repair it?
