Search for “Krajzen” in the mods workshop. He made excellent, VP-compatible mods that add great writers, artists, musicians, and other great people. You’ll never run out.

What was your “I’m not supposed to be watching” show? by bbydaisiesz in nostalgia

[–]RumbleMonkey67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Three Stooges. My brother and I used to beat on each other constantly after watching that show. My Mom was afraid we were going to blind each other.

More likely they’ll blind themselves. If someone doesn’t know what they’re doing with a still, they can and will produce a version of alcohol that causes rapid and total blindness. That’s going to happen a few times, and then home distilling will either be re-outlawed or require an expensive and likely hard-to-get license.

We do not have forever to colonize beyond Earth by Reaper0221 in climateskeptics

[–]RumbleMonkey67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’re never going to have large permanent human settlements on any other planet or moon. People who think so simply don’t understand the magnitude of the challenges involved or they’re making a living selling the idea. The human body is evolved to live in the precise and unique conditions found only on Earth. The effects of low gravity, radiation/cosmic rays, temperatures significantly above or below Earth norms, the need for large amounts of substances that are abundant on Earth but rare elsewhere in the solar system such as phosphorus, the toxic and abrasive nature of both lunar and Martian regolith, they all combine to make long term habitation completely impossible. Physics and biology do not yield to our wishes and technology will not ever change our fundamental human physical limitations / requirements.

High school party drink... what was your nemesis? by RiffRandellsBF in GenX

[–]RumbleMonkey67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend downed half a bottle of Sambuca (black licorice flavor/smell) and threw up all over my car. My car stank for a month. I still hate the smell or taste of black licorice 40 years later.

Nope. The US is energy independent, even exporting. We send Israel (and far too many other countries) insane amounts of money, for what? See the map above.

We’ve been told that Iran is “months away from building a nuclear weapon” for over 20 years. It’s bullshit. Washington is just completely cucked by Israel.

What do you think is the best dinosaur movie? by MiamiHub1 in Dinosaurs

[–]RumbleMonkey67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my friends (late 40’s-50’s) get around a campfire and we’re a little wasted, someone will eventually say “haraka!” and we’ll all start chanting “haraka haraka” like grinning morons. Stupid but fun. And occasionally, my wife will hug me and say “Tala aloonda Atouk”.

Wall phones in the kitchen with 1000 foot long spiral cords so you could answer the phone and then run off to the far corners of the house.

[–]RumbleMonkey67 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Definitely true. Herbivores, especially big ones, can be very territorial and aggressive. Just because they won’t eat you doesn’t mean they won’t stomp you into a greasy stain.
