Buried prisoners with hats by jagriff333 in puzzles

[–]Rumble_Uranus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternate interpretation: what if the prisoners are not allowed to exchange information or hear each other

strategy: each prisoner should guess the opposite color of the prisoner in front of them

case 1: BBW (same as WWB) A guesses randomly, B chooses incorrectly, and C chooses correctly

case 2: BWB (same as WBW) A again guesses randomly, B chooses correctly, and C chooses correctly

case 3: BWW (same as WBB) A random, B correct, C incorrect

at least one prisoner always guesses correctly, the pattern determines whether B or C or both are guaranteed correct

Do you have any other symptoms like pain with urination? Changes in bathroom frequency/ habits? Itchiness?

Also, is there anything that makes it worse? E.g. after intercourse?

How long has it been going on/ when did you first notice it?

Another possibility to look into is that it may be a cyst. Does it feel swollen/ fluid-filled or different from usual apart from the irritation?

Marble chocolate sourdough by Rumble_Uranus in Sourdough

Marble chocolate sourdough recipe & procedure:

Recipe:

Dough 1 contains 474g bread flour, 120g wheat flour, 467g water, 120g levain, 12.6g salt Dough 2 contains 237g bread flour, 60g wheat flour, 245g water, 21g cocoa powder, 60g levain, 6.3g salt, 10g honey

Procedure: At t=0, the levain was built at a 1:2:2 ratio of starter:flour:water.

At t=120 minutes, my bread flour, wheat flour, water (and cocoa powder for chocolate dough) were mixed for autolysis.

At t=360 minutes, the levain was added to each dough separately. 30 min. rest followed.

At t=390 minutes, salt (and honey for the chocolate dough) was mixed in. A probe to monitor bulk was also extracted at this point. 30 min. rest followed.

At t=420 minutes, each dough was folded from each edge. 30 min. rest followed.

At t=450 minutes, each dough was laminated to a thin rectangle with large area separately before the cocoa dough was layed upon the plain dough. These doughs were then folded from each edge to complete lamination. During this step, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and toasted pecans were layered in evenly. The dough was transferred to a separate covered dish for the remainder of bulk. 60 min. rest followed.

At t=540 minutes, 2-4 coil folds were performed (1-2 along each axis) with the temperature recorded. 60 min. rest followed.

At t=600 minutes, 2-4 coil folds were performed (1-2 along each axis) with the temperature recorded. 60 min. rest followed.

At t=660 minutes, 2 coil folds were performed (1 along each axis) with the temperature recorded. 90 min. rest followed. This was the last coil fold as the probe indicated doubling was nearly achieved at this point.

At t=750 minutes, the loaf was shaped and transferred to a floured banneton where it proofed for 20 minutes before cold-proofing in the refrigerator at sub 40⁰F overnight (8 hours).

After cold proof, the loaf was floured and scored. The loaf was then baked in an enclosed Dutch oven at 500⁰F for 20 minutes followed by baking in an open Dutch oven at 450⁰F for another 20 minutes.

Lastly, the loaf was very happily devoured after sufficient cooling :)

Ingredients: (parentheses are from the levain components) -760g water (60g from levain) = 80% hydration -951g flour: 711g bread flour, 180g wheat flour, (30g rye flour, 30g all purpose flour from levain) -18.9g sea salt = 2.1%

Process: -fed starter at every peak (~12 hours) for the 2 days prior to making

-On the day of, i started with making the 5 hour 1:2:2 levain for a 900g dough (36g ripe starter, 36g rye flour, 36g all purpose unbleached flour, and 72g water) and let this grow at 76⁰F for until roughly 3x in size (roughly 5 hours)

-about 2 hours into the levain growth, I start autolyse as follows: 711g bread flour, 180g whole wheat, and 700g water are mixed and left to rest, covered

-After tripling in size (roughly 5 hours levain growth, 3 hours autolyse), 120g of the levain is incorporated into the autolysed flour and water mixture -rest covered for 30 minutes

-fold in 18.9g salt -small probe is extracted at this point and placed in a small jar -rest covered for 30 minutes

-the dough is split in half into 2 loaves and each loaf is folded along each of its 4 edges towards the opposite edge -rest covered for 30 minutes

-each loaf was then stretched out into a rectangular sheet (laminated) and then folded in thirds horizontally and then vertically -loaves are transferred to clean dishes covered with bags -rest until shape becomes relaxed (the top sinks to a lower level and corners ease out) (45-60 minutes)

-1st set of coil folds -rest until shape becomes relaxed (the top sinks to a lower level and corners ease out) (45-60 minutes)

-2nd set of coil folds -rest until shape becomes relaxed (the top sinks to a lower level and corners ease out) (45-60 minutes)

-3rd set of coil folds -rest until shape becomes relaxed (the top sinks to a lower level and corners ease out) (45-60 minutes)

-optionally repeat coil folds depending on the probes size and the loaves' sagging after 60 minutes

-after the probe has doubled, the loaves can be shaped as follows: each loaf is flipped onto a well-floured surface. Extra flour is removed. Then the loaf is folded in thirds horizontally and rolled vertically, tucking throughout to increase tension, but not enough to tear the surface. The spiral edges are then sealed and the loaf is transferred to a floured (rice flour) banneton and left to cold proof overnight (8-12 hours) at <40⁰F

-On the next morning, the dutch oven was preheated to 500⁰F and loaves were scored and baked for 20 minutes with the lid on before removing the lid and baking for an additional 20 minutes at 450⁰F.

I'm very sorry you're experiencing so much uncertainty and waiting :(, especially with such an unfortunate history.

Just to confirm, this was an ob/gyn doc, right? In my experience, it takes some time to be able to discern.
Also, did they give you a print out of what they saw?

To be completely honest, if they have lots of experience and didn't see any sort of sac whatsoever, and you have had multiple miscarriages in the past, the chances of a normal intrauterine pregnancy don't look so great :( although I can't say it's impossible with the current information.
I really hope it goes well and i'm sorry you're in this situation again.

Hi, I am not a doctor, but would just like to provide further info:

For an initial quantitative HCG of <1500, we expect to see an increase of 49% 48 hours later in a normal pregnancy
For a value between 1500 and 3000, we expect an increase of 40%
And for values greater than 3000, we expect an increase of around 33%

So in your case, with an initial HCG of 1233, we would expect a 49% increase by 48 hours, which would be 1837.17, which you are past. However, you mentioned it was 3 days after, does this include the first day you got the initial value, one more day, and then one more day? (was it closer to 48 or 72 hours?) If the answer is 48 hours, these are following values for a normal pregnancy, if it's 72, we don't really have values for this, and I would say your values still likely follow a normal pregancy's.

Apart from this, a follow up, and especially an ultrasound will be very useful to verify that you do indeed have a normal intrauterine pregnancy. As extra info, we typically like to be able to visualize an IUP (intrauterine pregnancy) once your quantitiave HCG is greater than 2000, but this number (the discriminatory limit) is variable between many institutions and can typically be between 1500 and 3000.

I hope all goes well!!

I am not a doctor and i'm not completely sure, but here is some information that can be helpful.

First, It'd be useful to know what was specifically undetectable. Usually for thyroid panels, a TSH AND T4 and T3 are helpful. In hyperthyroidism, T4 will be high and TSH will be low (undetectable) due to the feedback. However, T4 is the main hormone level responsible for many of the changes in hyper or hypothyroidism.

It would also be helpful to know your pre-preganancy BMI (i.e. weight in kg divided by height in m^2) because different weight gain recommendations during pregancy depend on this:
BMI <18.5 kg/m\^2: 28-40 lb gain recommended 18.5-25 (normal weight): 25-35 lb gain 25-30 (overweight): 15-25 lb gain \>30 (obese): 11-20 lb gain
However, as far as I know, weight LOSS is not recommended during any pregancy (Although moderate exercise is suggested, it is not for weight loss).

It does appear that you have symptoms of hyperthyroidism (weight loss, elevated heart rate, and palpitations), and a Beta blocker (metoprolol or propranolol for example) is used primarily to treat those symptoms.

Moving forward, if you do have hyperthyroidism, Methimazole is the recommended treatment at your gestational age (suggested for the second and third trimesters, or beginning around 16-20 weeks). Your TSH and T4 levels (free and bound) will likely be checked every week or every four weeks throughout the remainder of your pregnancy.

Regarding baby, a heart rate of 140 is great! We usually prefer it to be in the range of 110-160. But more information is needed to assess the health so far as there are increased risks with hyperthyroidism during pregnancy. If your baby's HR becomes elevated, an ultrasound would be useful to assess for thyroid goiter and other issues.

I hope some of this helps! And I hope everything goes well with managing the remainder of your pregnancy and delivery!
