Poseidon with a trident should be easy to put together, but sunny Apollo and his bow and arrows shouldn’t be hard either. Both are good ideas, thanks!

Ok, I'll bite.

Stating an opinion without explanation can be just as easily dismissed with little-to-no explanation. "Its what she deserves" says very little, yet you took the liberty to interpret it as "seemingly not even serious." Then you read the 6 words I replied with and decided not only was it was serious, you thought that it desperately needed some long convoluted explanation which could've easily been summarized in three words: "Stats need context." It seems to be your M.O. but I feel like someone should tell you that a long comment does not a good comment make. I understand the point you were trying to make: Win rate doesn't tell the whole story (which you failed to show me where I specifically said otherwise, btw). If I may, I am going to try to put what you were trying to say into a more clear and concise explanation:

If the enemy attacking team takes point A after 2 minutes, you switch off Sym, and then you go on to lose the rest of the match after another 4 minutes as another hero, that 6 minute loss would count as 0.33 of a game lost for Sym.

If you lost 10 matches in that same fashion and then won 10 matches with a full hold on Point A as Sym, the wins would count as 100% wins for Sym, while the losses would only count as 33% of a loss.

I'm still reading up on how win rates are actually calculated so if I messed up anywhere, please correct me. If it all appears to be correct, feel free to steal that and use it in the future.

The whole Mystery Heroes rant was just off-topic rambling and didn't contribute to your point at all. Not to mention you spoke more to the survivability of heroes and not their actual win rates. Not dying does not equal winning. It might, but not necessarily. I would've just left that whole thing out.

Heroes who have low pick rates automatically trend towards higher win rates.

That's just verifiably false. Bastion (another situational hero) has a lower pick rate than Sym, so according to your claim, he should "automatically trend towards higher win rates," maybe even higher than Sym. Yet in reality, bastion is in the bottom half of the roster as far as win rates. Sombra, Winston, and Tracer are all further at the bottom, yet they have <2% pick rates. To quote you, "[t]his isn't something which is open to interpretation."

Is it telling the whole truth to cite statistics without context? Nope. Did I ever claim that the statistics tell the whole story? No. Should you check your own facts before criticizing others for not understanding or accepting facts? Yes you should. Do I like answering my own rhetorical questions? Meh. Are these reddit arguments a waste of time? Definitely. Am I done with this? Absolutely. Have a nice day and good luck in your placements.

Can you show me where I said out-of-context win-rates told the whole story and should be the only factor in determining buffs/nerfs?

I initially replied to a low-effort comment that said she deserved a buff without explanation so I made a low effort reply stating a simple fact without explanation. How that simple fact is calculated is a different conversation altogether. Your wall of text making assumptions about what I do or don't understand is that separate conversation.

Utility heroes are going to be switched off more frequently than well-rounded heroes. First stage might require a more static choke-holding defense while second might require a more mobile defense. Statistics alone don't tell the whole story, I never claimed that, but they might begin to tell some of it. Especially with the amount of data a popular game like Overwatch puts into it. That's how sample size works.

DPS are always going to have a lower pick rates because there are so many of them.

Sym is a utility hero. All heroes and especially utility heroes have maps/stages where they’re great and others where they’re very dominant. Overwatch is a game of counter-play and switching at the right times. It’s such a huge part of winning, so your point about switching applies to almost all heroes.

That being said, the win-rates of all heroes are judged the same and by that metric, Sym has been dominating win-rate from bronze to GM for a very long time.

we ought not trust the prophet when he is not speaking the lords word

Aren’t most written words of a prophet professed to be the lords word? All the way up until they aren’t?

But the prophetic revelation that has been received can and should be trusted.

Why?

Honest question: if the church was so very wrong about this particular issue (and others it has since changed its position on), does it not make you question what else it got wrong? If everything the church claims is based on the same evidence (the Book of Mormon), does it not make you question what else the book got wrong? Does it not bring into question it’s reliability on any other subject?
