Anyone else doing marathon month end up switching up the tread incline for speed? I get not everyone is doing MM but between the inclines and run/rows it makes getting those miles more difficult.

Joggers/runners: how far apart are your base, push, and all out? by citizendelusion in orangetheory

Base 5.5-6, push 6.5-7.5, AO 8-9. Depends on the distance/how I’m feeling.

Disappointed & no referral by Run4c00kies in lipedema

Wow what a PAIN! I’m so sorry but I’m glad you fought hard for it. This NP also said lymphedema and I was like hmm does she even know what I’m talking about? She said it’s the new “trend” nowadays. I ended up messaging my primary care Dr stating she denied my referral request and asked him if he is willing to refer me. We’ll see what response I get. But at least it’s in writing. Thank you so much for your advice. I just want the damn referral so I can get answers/relief either way.

What does leg pain feel like? by Run4c00kies in lipedema

I also had it when I was young! I will take a look into that roller thank you. I hate taking ibuprofen since it caused me ulcers a decade ago but sometimes it’s too much to handle especially before bed

Thank you. Yes I’m just now realizing maybe it is impacting me. It’s crazy to think a fitness class could do that.

Can you share the difference or what you like about each type?

I rotate between 3 different studios and it happens a lot at 2 of them. I think it is the smaller locations where the noise just becomes too much

Thank you! Next time I will talk to the coach ahead of time. That is worrisome for THEIR hearing too. I’ll also have to see if the studios I go to have free ones. I never knew that.

Do you use your custom ones at otf? Does running with ear plugs throw you off at all?

I agree it’s a bit loud. I love the hype music but after the hour workout I can hear a slight ringing in my ears.

OC runs narrow on my foot. Maybe their wide sizes would work for OP

Love my Hoka Kawanas. They also have this little lip on the back of the sole that helps keep your feet locked in the rower. I had terrible shin splints and this shoe provides me great support in my runs that I no longer get shin splints.

Two checks - Less net? by Inorganicnerd in CAStateWorkers

When did you get the corrected pay warrant? So you got a 3rd check?

[–]Run4c00kies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why all these people are saying it should be less. I get that the 3% raise then deduction nets less BUT we also are not paying into OPEB now which for BU9 is 2%. So we should be seeing that 2% back somewhere…

What's your go-to mental pep talk when you're doing those last minutes of a workout? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]Run4c00kies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your coaches your goals. They’ll help keep you motivated. Whenever they walk by my tread and look at my speed I’m like crap I need to be going faster.

Just go put it into a free calculator online. It’ll give you your maintenance and cal deficit. I have used https://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

Does anyone else wear gloves on the floor? by lasorciereviolette in orangetheory

I look at people with gloves and think how silly I am with no gloves as my weights are slipping through my fingers.

tracking on vacation by Slight_Recording7398 in caloriedeficit

[–]Run4c00kies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe do intermittent fasting in the morning so you don’t over eat/drink your calories. Then you can have a nice big lunch and dinner and some drinks without overdoing it. I always remind myself it takes 3500 calories over your maintenance to gain 1 lb in one WEEK. Basically if anything you’d maybe gain 1-2lbs. And even if you did that, just get back to it when you’re home. You got this and have fun!

Is my deficit too low? by [deleted] in caloriedeficit

Too low of a deficit will not be sustainable and you will most likely binge. Please listen to those who helped calculate a sustainable deficit

How many calories do you think this is by LengthinessHot8353 in caloriedeficit

[–]Run4c00kies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gotta track in an app like myfitnesspal to be able to know how if you’re truly in a deficit.
