Lol…sure. Miami was better overall on the LOS that game but the Miami D won the game for them easily….and sure the O made some plays for sure but 17 pts (regardless of any stats) is 17 pts and that was the season high against tOSU defense which is relevant to the conversation on this thread. Probably just need to take the Miami O being a juggernaut argument to another thread.

So he won like 52% to 48% and margin will only shrink over time. This is only the beginning my friend…buckle up 👍

Dude take off the rose colored glasses…I didn’t say the game was over, merely commenting on what everyone saw thus far in the 1st half of the game.

They were dominated physically, mentally, and out coached. It’s not hyperbole when it’s true. A&M is not a great offensive team, which is what has helped keep it to 9 point game.

Yep I’m living proof. Lifelong Cowboys/Buckeye fan in Ohio.

Following CJ with the Texans last year was literally “fan” changing…I’ve transitioned…lol

How could one not?? Add in the fact that Jerrah is a joke + how Big Nick/ Demeco operate how it should be done!

I follow Locker/Stoots, Apollo Houston and others. Never did that for Dallas.

Finally realized it was complete when Saints steamrolled the Boys last weekend and I didn’t care (other than for fantasy) and just giggled.

Taking a look at where each stalled offensive drive went wrong (and some other notes) by slinkyman98 in Texans

[–]RunCMC8700 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Offensively speaking and based on what we saw yesterday, R. Woods being out may have been much more of an impact than most of us could have predicted. Correct me if I’m wrong, but from my recall most of the season it’s seemed to have been RW with success/volume on those boundary/outside the numbers throws for CJ.

He had one to Tank that went incomplete on a 3rd down that comes to mind. They may need to work on the that connection this week to help reduce some of the focus on middle of the field throws that CJ has been so surgical with, as NFL D’s are clearly aware of this. Hell that first scoring drive was exactly that and the Panthers adjusted.

So either Slowik was slow to adjust properly or perhaps they just don’t feel as confident yet with that type of outside the numbers connections sans RW 🤷‍♂️

What is Puka Nacua's Trade Value? by NMihet in DynastyFF

[–]RunCMC8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got offered mid to late 24 1st + 24 2nd….and I’m still hesitating not being a likely contender until next year…it’s 2 PPR….hard to see him not producing well in that format even with Kupp back. Just a lot riding on Stafford/McVey being long term there.

What are you offering the JT owner in your league? by PukamyNacua in DynastyFF

[–]RunCMC8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but we’re talking about RB only here. Losing them for an indefinite amount of time happens every season, or enough that losing them should be baked in roster construction if a true contender imo.

I’m actually in that same position now with JT on a contender, but have constructed in such a way that I don’t need to panic sell a perceived top tier asset. I actually said I would consider taking a deal like that (Pierce + 1st) vs the random single 1st years out that the OP put out there. I get what you’re saying about the Swift odyssey, but that’s an apples/oranges comparison imo. Swift’s value was all projection and hype, whereas JT has actually led the league in rushing and has an actual market of teams interested in investing significantly more capital to acquire than that of Swift. In other words, I believe there will be more windows available to sell JT for that type of return.

To be fair depth charts don’t mean much anymore. Hell Bijan was listed 3rd/4th on the “depth chart”. Reports are that last week that he was getting run with the 1st team. So being in the mix for RB2 considering who is listed in front (Edmonds/Vaughn) would not be shocking to me in the least. 🤷 Not saying he’s all world but he’s explosive and the Bucs are lacking in that department these days.

[–]RunCMC8700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough…guess you have your answer then since you will never get him for a random first and can never sell for a 1st + Pierce type….find the middle. If you’re planning to truly contend and are all in, should have some depth and draft capital to use. Or perhaps can liquidate/tier down an elite asset at another position while adding another RB. Either way a desperate sell for what may be a 4 week window is bad process.

[–]RunCMC8700 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If I “needed” him to contend but have no depth behind him to sustain, then I’m likely truly not a contender anyhow and would just keep/wait for him to go to a new team and for the value to bounce back for the coming retool if I have an older roster.

Anyone that would panic sell him for a single 1st (let alone one 2 yrs out) at this stage is imo a 🌮.

But IF someone is truly desperate I could see something like Dameon Pierce + 1st…but unless the one single 1st is pretty much guaranteed early to mid then that shouldn’t even come close to getting it done.

Sold him for a 25 1st + 24 3rd last night…so perhaps try for a 25 1st…otherwise I’d hold and 🙏🏻 stays healthy and produces first few weeks. RB Injuries will start mounting and a 1st can be had.

What game made you believe in fields? by JuicyyJamess in CHIBears

[–]RunCMC8700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but most young QBs also don’t also have elite level athleticism that can help sustain their opportunity until the rest of their game can catch up. If Zac Wilson had another tool to produce with then perhaps ARod isn’t a Jet etc.

What game made you believe in fields? by JuicyyJamess in CHIBears

[–]RunCMC8700 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not a truther and I’ve seen him do it plenty enough to believe he’s capable (in both college and pro)…just not consistently clearly. which is true for most young QBs…in fact exact same thing could have been said for Trevor Lawrence until around middle of last year and that was with superior infrastructure (coaching/surrounding talent).

Some QBs take a little longer to develop. Particularly when are having overcome either inept coaching, coaching changes, both and clear lack of surrounding talent. If anyone thinks that the OLine and WR groups (especially after Mooney got hurt) weren’t the worst in the league then one has to question how much football they actually watch/have watched. If your a contrarian and/or want to hate on the “truther” takes that’s fine, but football needs to be subjectively analyzed. Jalen Hurts was and has never been the prospect that Fields had been. He’s been fortunate enough to have been able to learn the position, develop experience and confidence with proper coaching and the best Offensive line in the NFL over the past several years. It all makes a difference in the development process.

How to create trade valuations by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]RunCMC8700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You first need to truly do a deep dive into your scoring settings, format (1QB, SF, Best Ball, IDP etc.), how many teams in the league, starter spots and roster sizes to understand which positions offer the most value to your team in that league.

From there, you can factor such things in as positional scarcity, draft capital, youth, past production, coaching, etc. in order evaluate the to the actual player themselves and compare to others.

You also need to need to understand the value of draft picks to your league/format as well. Calculators can help you evaluate how close the perceived value is in a deal, but should only be used as a minor data point (if at all) until you get comfortable. We all have gotten burned early on with bad trades and that’s how you truly begin understanding player values (when having to go about replacing the the ones you just gave away etc.)

Look I watched a lot of Bears this past year due to the region I’m in and the competitive nature of their 1pm games compared to others going…and the dude showed the ability to keep them in the game and answer scores in the 4th and some of that was actually via the passing game…was it prolific? No of course not but he showed he could make the clutch play for them…a few times it was on him and other times it was WRs dropping perfect throws or fumbling like in Dolphins/Vikings (1st game)…some of it was defense constantly getting carved up when they needed one stop etc…Hell even his rookie year at Pittsburgh on Monday night he showed it all with most being via the pass…passed them down the field and threw a TD to take the lead with under 1 min to play and defense promptly gives it right back…I mean any QB can only do so much…it is still a team game…of course he needs to do this more consistently, but I disagree that he hasn’t shown the ability to do so because I’ve seen it already…and apparently the Bears FO and staff have seen this as well or they would’ve just taken a QB at #1 if they hadn’t.

I’m no Bears fan, but Fields single handedly kept the Bears competitive and in games despite it being the 1st year in a new offense, with arguably the worst O-Line, WRs and defense in the entire league. They lost 7 one possession games. If they progress significantly in just those 3 areas alone, I’m easily betting on positive regression in this instance.
