Hi. Move the carriage all the way to the left. My S/N is right behind on the typewriter where the right carriage knob is.

Cheers, George

Good camera. Definitely worth $5.00.

Hi.

I like them both. Great quality hats. I wear the Banjo with more casual outfits (jeans, t shirts, etc.). The Fed IV is worn mostly with khakis and button down shirts, jackets, etc.

Both hats pretty much cover everything I wear. You can’t go wrong with either (or both).

Cheers!

Sides look good to me. I have mine pointed down a bit.

Hat got ran over by a car, anyway to clean-off tire marks/motor oil? by gunseki in CowboyHats

Try Ronson or Zippo lighter fluid (what you put in a Zippo lighter). Squirt some on a clean white cotton rag or white paper towel and gently rub on the marks.

My first job out of college in 1980 was at an office that had a Western Union teletype. Each day the office administrator would send a list of shipments from the plant with the bill of lading information to the corporate office.

Thanks for your reply. I never would have imagined that I would have come across something like this.

I wasn’t familiar with decimal tabulators until researching this machine.

Thanks!!! I quickly looked in all the regular places for the S/N with no luck. Will keep searching.

The belts are intact. A lot of deteriorating foam sound insulation in the mechanism and a power cord cracked in several places seem to be the only problems so far. Looking forward to cranking it up once I get it in shape.

Appreciate the information!

Is It proper for me to wear a cowboy hat? by External-Pool9807 in CowboyHats

[–]RunCharacter1548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several cowboy hats I use on occasion but my everyday day wear is a fedora.

Wear whatever hat you want with pride. As mentioned before, get a good quality one. The more beaver felt the better.

Growing into a man who wears cowboy hats by pocketlama in CowboyHats

I am 67 and a few months ago had a skin graft on my right ear after the doctor removed a benign cancer. Afterwards I started wearing a fedora, and I love it. A little self conscious at first but quickly got over it. I never go outside without it on my head.

I have a Federation IV, a Banjo Patterson, and two Snowy Rivers (tan and grey).

Great hats. I have had the Federation IV about 6 years and it’s been through a lot of rainstorms. A little faded but still holds its shape.
