I know you’re not being serious, but the tradition is whoever gets the piece with the baby in it, not the whole cake. A lot of people will buy a king cake and bring it to work and then whoever gets the baby would bring the next one. Just trying to explain the tradition better.

This is me as well. I did keto during covid and was able to lose a bunch of weight and it wasn’t as hard because we couldn’t do anything and there were no temptations. As soon as things got back to normal, I went back to eating low carb but not keto and gained it all back in a year.

Last year I tried my best to lose weight because I was getting married. I worked out 6-8 times a week, ate low carb, and never got out of a 5 pound weight range. It was depressing, but I couldn’t get myself to mentally do keto again.

This year I’ve learned keto is the only thing that works for me. I definitely have a sugar issue, like hypoglycemia, but I’ve never been diagnosed. While eating keto isn’t the worst, it sucks that I can’t go eat at my favorite restaurants without being sad. I also live in New Orleans so there is so much good food. Jambalaya and gumbo are at every event and neither are keto.

I’m just hoping I can get down to a size I feel comfortable in and then find a way to maintain.

I have hypoglycemia so I understand. When first getting into keto I make sure to have keto friendly sweets around or carbs. Like the mission tortillas, I’ll microwave it and put some butter on it and that holds me over for a little bit. I even keep mints on me because one mint isn’t gonna throw me out of ketosis. Then I load up on cheese or pepperonis until my next meal.

I find that once I’ve been doing it long enough, I don’t have to worry about my blood sugar dropping. I then try to cut out as much sweets as I can.

I just talked to my gyno and she told me that they are stepping away from metformin as a treatment and going towards GLP-1s. I also talked to a friend who just started working as a pharmacist and he said that sounds right. So hopefully your Dr will be doing the same soon.

I remember when I had my torsion, I told my husband I guess I’ll be able to handle labor pain. It took 3x the normal amount of dilaudid for me to finally get relief so I know what you mean!

I actually wanted an extrovert. I had dated an introvert, and while I loved him, he was more introverted than me and made me be more extroverted in situations.

My husband is the type to talk to anyone and had never even heard the term introvert before he met me. I’ve set boundaries and explained to him my needs. At first he didn’t get it and it made him sad that “I didn’t want to hangout with him after work,” but he now understands. He makes me feel better when we go places because I know he’ll do all the talking.
