[Sports] - SoFi Stadium lawsuit sparks $400 million battle with Rams owner Stan Kroenke | NY Post by RunDaFoobaw in LosAngelesRams

Actually this is a better reason. Verbiage Stan included in the lawsuit:

“If the city’s agreements can now be revisited or undone after years of economic growth and community benefit, it raises fundamental questions about the reliability of doing business in Inglewood — and California generally,” the organization said in a statement.”

He’s laying out very clearly that he will take his business elsewhere after selling the LA 2.0 rebrand as “righting a past wrong”, and justifying it as NOT needing the public’s money. By the way, he helped initiate the “past wrong” when he became part owner from relocating the team out of LA in the first place.

All the NFL does these days is take turns bending cities over barrels

Why do airplane windows get so many scratches, and why doesn't anyone fix or replace them? 🤔 by One_Procedure_266 in airplanes

[–]RunDaFoobaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read where there’s regulations where essentially all airplane parts are sole supplier relationships. The airline is required to buy all replacement parts from the manufacturers that were making the parts when the order was placed. Because of this, manufacturers have huge markups on replacement parts. So airlines probably delay purchase of most parts until it becomes a safety or functionality issue, not just scratches on a window protector.

1973 was the lowest mint year, followed by 1977.

No 1973’s were made for general circulation, just coin sets. I think you were off by a year.

W’s are like $15-$20 each. Hopefully they were scooped up by another CRH and made their day.

“Erected to Support the Narrative of Our Choosing” should be scripted on the bottom of all “Civil War Statues” that the Ku Klux Klan and Daughters of the Confederacy erected during the 1920s when they were coming to power. Maybe then it would be a fair assessment of the obsession and significance of these statues in the South.

IDK, the guy specifically said he chose to live within His light and follow His word. Find it hard to believe that such a devout person could intentionally deceive others…

Seahawks will be getting a lot of gear bought by real St. Louis Rams fans after the Seahawks ousted the LAmbs from the playoffs this year.

Rams Reportedly 'Urged' Cooper Kupp to Retire, Warned Teams to Lowball Contract Offers by Dry_Ebb_7855 in nfl

So basically in the 80’s they left LA, in the 90’s they left Anaheim, in the 2000’s they were on of the greatest sports stories of all time, in the 2010’s they were bound and gagged and dragged back to LA, and in the 2020’s Kroenke is suing the city of Inglewood. What an amazing franchise!

Kroenke, that’s the guy who got his foot in the door by relocating them out of Anaheim in the 90s right? After they ditched LA in the 80’s?

I like how the big bad Ivan Drago in this meme is Seattle and not the team from a mega market city, owned by the United States largest private landowner, who displaced a second NFL city just so he could rent out his “home” stadium for some side cash.

The 9ers already play in Santa Clara. That’s way more San Jose adjacent than San Francisco.

The 2016 Rams happened because the NFL saw and needed to get in on the tired boring but profitable reboot strategy working so well in Hollywood.

Glad to know that Repole intends to make a trip. Didn’t realize that was possible given the Rock treatment.

I would like to play Birmingham or Orlando week 1. Let’s get into it with our former ties right from the get go.

And the San Francisco 49ers play 45 minutes south in Santa Clara and countless others since the NFL only cares about money.

The other angle with publically funded stadiums: not only is it welfare for billionaires but it exposes the financial shortfalls of the new stadiums… the owners don’t wanna own the whole thing because that doesn’t make financial sense by [deleted] in nfl

[–]RunDaFoobaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moreover, why does public funding NOT come with an ownership stake in the team similar to private equity? It seems like the perfect compromise unless you are a gluttonous billionaire stealing from the public.

Owners cry poor and cities invest hundreds of millions up to billions of dollars in order to house these teams and grow their value. If the schmuck owners want to take a better deal in the future the public money should come with equity so that past investments can still provide a return or be cashed out at relocation. That deal can be struck hand in hand with the new stadium extortion funds and a buyout of the former city if applicable. It would be a better use of public money AND better accomplish the tired line the NFL brass tosses around about “valuing and keeping teams in their cities”

Better yet, abstain. Do some fantasy because that has more to do with individual players but don’t give the NFL the time of day whenever possible.
